My last sprint as a 50 year old half man, half machine🦾💪🏽
Tomorrow turns into another year older but another year to be grateful for the body I was given and make it the best that I can. You only get one body so look after it and it will look after you.💯💪🏽
We celebrated today by doing 5 x 1k’s, all easily under 4 mins with jog recovery on each one. Then 6 x 300’s in 50’s with 100m jog recovery. Them baby’s burn🦵🏽🔥🤯

Then coz I can I did an eye balls out fly start 100m in 11 secs🚀

They say 95% of adults over 30 will never sprint again for the rest of their lives.”

The brain is the control centre for our bodies and determines our emotions, thoughts, and actions. Let your mind be strong and the body will follow. Age is really just a number. Just so happens that mine is a BIG one🥇😂💪🏽

Use it or lose it. 💪🏽

Both great quotes and something I massively believe in. We have to keep oiling the wheels if we want to maintain a good level of fitness as we grow older and be able to compete at a high level well into your 30’s, 40’s & 😮‍💨 50’s.

Mentality. It starts in your head. If we can’t get motivated to get started and get up off the couch then we are screwed. One day at a time. Consistency will always win the race.

Nutrition. Eating a nutritious and balanced diet will maintain muscle as well as keep body fat levels low so that you aren’t putting stress on your joints as you age. Lots of guys get injured from piling weight on and expecting to still do what they were doing years ago. The body can’t handle the stress and will break down.

Training. Train smart, do something you enjoy and make sure you do it with correct form and technique. You look after your body and it will look after you. 💯

Recovery. Definitely something that I wouldn’t have given any thought to even 20 years ago ✋🏽😂
As the body gets older it takes more time to recover from a heavy session and load being put through the joints and muscles. There are so many options that you can utilise to help the body recover and come back even stronger each and every session. Sleep is the no1 for helping the body get back to maximum and optimum energy levels.
Then you have foam rolling, saunas, ice baths, stretching and sports massage to name a few.

Things we love to see 🤩🤩 ⚽️⚽️

Just 2 young lads who have achieved their school boy dreams of playing professional football.
Both Kayden Hughes & Zack Littler have made their full pro debuts this season for 👏🏽👏🏽

So for any young aspiring footballers out there this shows that there is a pathway into the professional game and if you are good enough and work hard enough you will definitely get a chance.

I’ve had the pleasure to have trained these 2 hungry cats for many, many years now and I’ve seen first hand how hard they have worked and continue to work to reach and maximise their full potential. Huge credit goes to their families for all the sacrifices and years of constant encouragement and guidance to help pave the way for their boys to achieve their dreams and also turning them into fine young men and role models.

It’s always nice when after years of constant ruthless sessions these boys still trust me ( and quite like me)to get them in to top shape for the new season.

Also well done to the gaffer and the Fleetwood academy system for putting their faith into young talent and giving them a chance to shine in the senior game.

That’s pretty much another successful pre-pre season boxed off with the pro footballers down All the lads are looking in top condition to go back to their pro clubs and smash out another top season. I asked the fellas to share with you guys a little insight into how they benefit from the running sessions and if they are a bit HARD?🥵🤣🤣🥇 Thanks to .teale18 .hughes53 .3 .6 .holmes38 for the kind words and trusting me to push them and get them to that next level in their fitness. Also big thanks to for being my 1st team coach and emergency pacemaker. Best you’ve ever looked pal 🏃🏽‍♂️

Who are the fittest athletes that i train? ⚽️🏉🥊🥇

I asked this question a lot and I would have to say footballers for the simple reason that a game is 90+ minutes of running, change of directions, accelerations and decelerations.

Boxing wise Brian Rose was a joke as he could recover in no time when it looked like he was about to spew up🤮 Ridiculous engine on the geezer.

Like I said this is my take on it and I’m not saying that other sports or athletes aren’t as fit, it’s just coming from my own training with these crazy cats💪🏽🚀
