🍫🏊‍♀️ Come and take a dive into our very own chocolate factory! 🏊‍♂️🍫

With Roald Dahl Day coming up on Sunday 13th September, we’ve been diving into the wonderful world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this week… but with a very special AquaSensory spin! ✨

Being AquaSensory certified means we can take a theme children already know and love and give it more depth, meaning and purpose through the water.

So, rather than simply dressing up a lesson with a few chocolatey props, we’ve slowed things down, explored the story and encouraged our swimmers to make connections between the story and what their bodies can do in the water. 💦

🍫 Getting creative in the Inventing Room
🍫 Using movement, imagination and guided discovery to reinforce their swimming skills

This is something I care about so much.

I don't want families to walk into Rainbow Swim feeling like they've got to explain themselves.

Or apologise because their child needs something a little different.

Or worry that they're making things difficult.

I want you to walk in and think:

**“They get us.”** 💛

And that's not just about how we teach.

It's also about the environment we've created at The Splash Academy in Bolton.

Warm water. Underfloor heating. A private swimming environment. A viewing gallery for parents. A parents' kitchen.

It's designed with families in mind.

So yes, we're here to teach your child to swim.

But we're also here to make the whole experience feel welcoming, manageable and positive.

Because when a child feels comfortable — and their parent feels comfortable too — everyone can relax a little more.

September can feel like a lot.

New routines, new school days, new clubs, tired children and parents trying to remember where they need to be next. 😂

So the last thing we want is for swimming to feel like another battle.

Sometimes your child might need a little longer to settle.

Sometimes they might need to watch before joining in.

Sometimes they might need you close by.

**We get it.**

That's why we take the time to understand your child rather than expecting them to simply fit into the lesson.

Because swimming can be something they look forward to — a familiar place, familiar faces and something that's theirs amongst all the change.

And honestly, sometimes that's exactly what families need in September. 💛

Parents, one of my favourite things to hear after a first swimming lesson is:

“When can I come back?”

Not because they swam a perfect length.
Not because they ticked off a new stage.

But because they **enjoyed it**.

One of our parents recently told us her daughter left her first lesson absolutely beaming — proud of herself, excited and already asking when she could come back. 🌈

And honestly, that means so much to me.

Because confidence matters.
Feeling safe matters.
Enjoying the water matters.

And when a child starts to feel comfortable, understood and proud of what they've achieved, that's when we can really start building from there.

We still want to teach them to swim. Of course we do.

We just don't believe every child has to take exactly the same route to get there.

Sometimes the biggest step forward is simply thinking:

**“I want to do that again.”** 💛

Thursday doesn't have to be the forgotten day of the week. 😉

In fact, it can be a really useful day for swimming — especially when you're trying to make family life work around school, work and everything else.

At The Splash Academy in Bolton, our Thursday lessons have both **4pm and 6:30pm** options.

💦 **4pm:** come straight from school, get swimming done and head home for a relaxed evening.

💦 **6:30pm:** a great option for working parents who can't make the after-school rush.

And because the venue is exclusive to Rainbow Swimmers, it's a warm, welcoming environment without the usual busy public leisure-centre feel.

It's swimming that fits around **real family life**.
