Cup Match Report

Blackburn Blacks V Peebles FC

Final Score: 8 Nil to Peebles.

A tough one for the lads today as we faced a very strong Division 2 side in our first cup game.

It was always going to be a big step up in competition for our wee team, and while the boys weren’t quite able to match the quality of the opposition,they fought hard from the first whistle to the last and never stopped trying.

We had a few moments of magic throughout the game, creating some good opportunities and having a few attempts just miss the target. On another day, we could have had a couple to show for our efforts.

The scoreline doesn’t reflect the effort and determination shown by the boys. For their first experience of cup football at this level, they can be incredibly proud of themselves. Every single one of them left everything on the park.

A big learning experience for the team, and one that will definitely make them stronger going forward.

Heads up, boys — We go again 💪⚽️

Completing our squad we have, The Twins.

The quiet assassins. Came to us with Zero experience playing for a team and have shown massive improvements week on week with them both developing at an incredible pace. Fantastic additions to the squad… cant wait to see them flourish as season fires on 🙌

We go again with, Aiden R and Ewan.

Left footed wizard and our tank in the middle. Our most recent signing Aiden (Bruno) came to us from the Edinburgh league and has been a massive addition to the squad, fitting in just nicely and giving us a different threat going forward. Our tank in the middle… Ewan has given us 100% every time he graces the pitch. Blood (Literally), sweat and tears and he never gives up. What a machine this boy is 🙌🏼

Our dynamic duo and the first set of Twins… Groot and Rocket. Harry with the height and Ren with the might. Safe hands in the sticks for Harry, Developing well and a great addition to the squad. Our rocket in midfield Ren who has more energy than the Duracell bunny 👌

Next up, we have young Gerard and Mikey.

Our wall at the back and our sharpshooter up top. Gez and Mike. Came to us at the start of 9s and developed beautifully. Gezza is a solid in our back line, a unit wherever he is with great feet allowing us to build from the back and Mikey has recently moved from RM to ST and is itching to put holes in the net, who’s feet sometimes work quicker than his brain, a pest for any back line.

One word for these two, tuff 💪🏼.
