🥋 Special Training Session with Sensei Dave! 🥋

We were delighted to welcome Sensei Dave from Yushikai Karate Academy to Kazokudai Karate for an outstanding two-hour training session with a select group of students.

The session covered a fantastic blend of kihon, kata, and kumite, providing everyone with new insights, challenges, and plenty of opportunities to develop their skills. Sensei Dave’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to detail made for an engaging and enjoyable training experience from start to finish.

Everyone who attended had a great time, learned a lot, and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to train under a different instructor and gain a fresh perspective on their karate journey.

A huge thank you to Sensei Dave for giving up his time to share his expertise with our students. We look forward to welcoming him back to Kazokudai Karate again in the future for another excellent session.

🥋 Has your karate stopped improving? 🤔

Sometimes progress doesn’t slow down because of a lack of talent—it slows down because of habits we don’t even realise we’re developing.

Some common reasons include:
✅ Skipping the basics
✅ Fear of sparring
✅ Training only for belts
✅ Weak discipline and consistency
✅ Neglecting conditioning
✅ Poor breathing control
✅ Giving up after setbacks
✅ Comparing yourself to others
✅ Not allowing time for recovery

The good news? Every one of these challenges can be overcome.

Karate is not about being perfect—it’s about showing up, learning from mistakes, and taking one step forward every time you train. The students who improve the most aren’t always the most talented; they’re the ones who stay patient, trust the process, and keep working on the fundamentals.

Focus on becoming a little better than you were yesterday, and the results will follow.

Ladies Only Karate Session – A Fantastic Day of Learning and Development

It was a privilege for Kazokudai Karate to support the recent Ladies Only Session hosted by Yushikai Karate Academy.

Sensei Bianca was honoured to be invited to teach and spent the day working with an amazing group of dedicated ladies who travelled from various clubs to train together, learn, and share their passion for karate.

The session was divided into two focused training blocks. The first 1.5 hours were dedicated to refining and developing Kata Chinte, exploring its techniques, applications, and key performance details. The second 1.5 hours focused on movement and positioning in kumite, helping participants gain a greater understanding of distance, timing, angles, and effective movement strategies.

The enthusiasm, commitment, and positive attitude shown by everyone throughout the day created a fantastic learning environment. It was wonderful to see so many women supporting one another, asking questions, challenging themselves, and enjoying the opportunity to develop their karate together.

A huge thank you to Yushikai Karate Academy for the invitation and excellent hospitality, and to all the ladies who attended and made the event such a success. We had a great time learning together and look forward to seeing everyone again soon. 🥋💪
