The pump track’s public consultation session, run by Curve Studios in partnership with Swansea Council, Bishopston Community Council and our project was held today.

Many members of the public came along to share their opinions on design aspects of the pump track, and suggest improvements to be considered in the next stage of the planning and design process.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the event - it was lovely to hear everyone’s opinions about the project!

A huge thanks to Sally, Sam, Luca, Tor and Kes for helping out on the Bishopston Skatepark Project stand at May Day!

It was amazing to meet so many new families who hadn’t learnt about the project. We spoke to many members of the community and shared the vision for what’s to come.

We also ran a raffle with some great prizes: a t-shirt, a skating helmet, and a beautiful painting by local artist Janie Brown of a skateboarder at Mumbles Skatepark. Here’s a snap of the winner, Alys, with Janie!

Just popped into the new in Mumbles, and had a lovely chat with the shopkeeper about the local skating scene.
If you are looking for new high quality clothes or gear, I’s highly recommend checking this place out! They had great skater merch and cool accessories for boards (and just for this freezing weather🥶)

We had a productive meeting with Ollie from Clark & Kent Contractors Ltd yesterday to move the design. We’re thrilled to be taking this step forward to bring this project to life!

We’re thrilled to share that our recent skate session was a huge success, with around 50 people attending! Our continual skate sessions over the last 6 years highlight the need and support for a permanent skate facility in Bishopston.

Check out the photos - it’s amazing to see young people of all abilities, from little ones to older kids, enjoying the day on bikes, scooters, skateboards, and even roller skates. The variety and freedom these facilities provide is truly inspiring, and it would be fantastic to get this over the line for our community.

We would like to thank Bishopston Primary School for allowing us to use the site to host this skate session

International skate park experts, Curve Studio , have been brought in to help develop the Swansea Masterplan for skateboard and wheeled sports, following a pledge from Swansea Council to invest over £1M on local facilities.

Today members of our team met with Jeremy and Kennith from Curve studio who wanted to hear all about the Bishopston Skatepark Project and their plan for a Pump track in the village.
