Bishops Stortford Judokwai Our mission is simple, make people fall in love with judo and be better than they were yesterday. We are located in the Herts & Essex Sports Centre.

Founded in 2002 by GB Olympian John Holliday, Bishops Stortford Judo has grown into a thriving community club with a reputation for developing national and international meadlists. Catering for all levels and ages; ranging from teaching primary school age children fundame

ntal skills to coaching players on national performance pathways and beyond. All of our coaches are BJA qualified, DBS checked and hold First Aid and Child Protection certificates. The club's lead coaches, Joe and Nicole Nunn, are both England Talent Programme coaches, former Great Britain international players and winners of the UK Children's Coach of the Year Award. Our dojo is purpose built and has a permanent 22 x 12m mat area, with a sprung floor, 50mm contest mats and seated spectators area. The centre has changing rooms, showers and a social space with a kitchen and bar. Visitors and new starters are always welcome, taster sessions for beginners are FREE and are run on the first class nights of each month. This weekend Artem and Jake travelled out to Hungary with coach Chloe to compete in the Hopes Cup in Gyor, Hungary 🇭🇺

No medals this time but a great experience at the comp, both had opening matches to eventual medallists, and the lads also participated in a technical masterclass.

All of our week-day evening classes are also running as usual during the school half term break.

(Saturday morning judo classes are closed ​this week, back on 6th June 2026).
