Are you're looking to improve your game and become part of an increasingly successful part of Durham County golf?

Sunday 11th October 2026 is Junior selection day for our Foundation and Under 14 squads, to be held at Headlam Hall Golf Club.

Please read through the poster and if interested register by emailing [email protected] and provide the required information.

Could Club Managers and Junior Organisers please circulate the information to U14 Boys in your club junior section.

Update from Thursday 23rd. Durham U14 v Yorkshire U14

After the morning foursomes, points were shared at 2-2, with everything to play for in the afternoon singles.

Fully aware of the challenge ahead each player dug deep to try to give Alex Sheen the best possible send off in his last game in charge.

As usual the standard of golf was high with some outstanding shots and great putts produced. The lads stuck at it and came out eventual winners.

Final Score:
Durham 6.5 v Yorkshire 5.5

This may be the first time our U14 team has won against Yorkshire, or at least the first win for a very long time. I'm sure someone out there will confirm.

Good luck to Alex as he moves to manage our U16 team, and good luck and thank you to Lee Scott and Joe Cullen for stepping forward to run the U14 team and our development groups.

Alex wishes to thank the parents who bring the lads to golf coaching, practice and matches. The sacrifices you all make is appreciated by all involved with DCGU. Well done.

It's been a busy few days for our Bishop Auckland Golf Club Juniors.

BAGC hosted Tyneside in the last 8 of the DCGU Junior Clark Cup. Against strong opponents Charlie, Jenson, Elliot, Issac & Alfie forced a sudden death play off where Charlie lost out to a magnificent birdie on the 19th hole. Congratulations to Tyneside & best wishes in the semi finals.

In the last league match of the season the team travelled to Eaglescliffe GC, unfortunately one man short due to busy golfing calendars. Charlie, Coby, Jenson & Elliot all dug deep to give their opponents a serious challenge but Eaglescliffe were well deserved winners. All players enjoyed the course but special mention to the pizza order!!

Congratulations to Charlie Curry for his first call up for DCGU Juniors in their Under 14's match against Northumberland & Finley Hall & Ben Mawson representing Durham Under 18's v Lancashire.

Last night the Bishop Auckland Golf Club Juniors travelled to Hartlepool GC for their league match. Although a new venue for 4 of the 5 man team all matches were extremely close, a credit to everyone. The final result of a halved match overall was a great achievement. Players on both teams were seen to communicate really well with each other, it's great to see team spirit building week on week.
