Below is a list of what we have and prices. We are not taking offers, we have not set these prices to rip peoples eyes out but to recoup some of our losses.

All items are on a first paid will have basis. I can't reserve items just incase we miss a potential sale.

5 years ago Elaine and I opened in our first facility in Shildon. We experienced massive growth in those first few months resulting in us moving to our current home in Bishop Auckland nearly 4 years ago.

In that time we have been able to meet and help some amazing people whether it be as members or visitors in the various seminars and competitions we have hosted.

We have been truly blessed with some incredible members and for that we will always be proud.

Back in March we were faced with something we could never have planned for or expected when due to the COVID-19 pandemic we were forced to close our doors.

Whilst you our members on the whole have continued to pay your direct debits with the hope of preventing closure the last announcement by government has been the last nail in the coffin.

As such we are truly heartbroken to announce The Pit Gym will not be reopening its doors.

Since closing Elaine and I have pushed to lower costs to a manageable level and although our landlord has been superb the costs / cash flow ratio has been the decisive factor in our decision.

Our business was based on about 40% direct debits and 60% cash payments through visitors & supplements.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who is or has been a member / visitor to our gym, your support has truly been fantastic and without you we wouldn't have got as far as we did.

Those of you with let out on rental can we please ask message us directly to arrange return or to discuss if you wish to purchase the kit.

Those still with active direct debits these will be cancelled immediately.

Again we would like to thank you all for your support over the years.

So just watched the statement from the PM. Pretty much as we expected and although its disappointing it's also the right thing to do for the safety of everyone.

To summarise the steps laid out with general timelines.

Step 1 - From Wednesday, unlimited outdoor exercise but sticking to social distancing and only with members of your household, pretty sure this will not include outdoor PT or Bootcamps though.

Step 2 - If all goes to plan, from June 1st at the earliest a phased reopening of some shops and some movement on primary schools.

Step 3 - If the "R" stays low, from July 1st a phased reopening of the hospitality industry which I take to include gyms but with social distancing practices being carried out.

So hopefully things are moving in the right direction, fingers crossed as measures get eased we don't encounter another spike which will see measures toughened up.

I will keep you all informed as things evolve.

Good afternoon everyone, hopefully everyone is coping ok with lockdown.

With lockdown hopefully coming to an end soon (literally crossing everything in hope) we have been doing some work in the background to get us back operating with what we expect to be restricted guidelines.

As such we have allocated 90 minute blocks, these will be restricted in number to allow social distancing to be carried out and in safety.

Following each 90mins block the gym will close for 30mins for cleaning before the next session starts.

Everyone will have to book in for their 90min block either via the website class schedule https://www.thepitgym.co.uk/class-schedule/

Memberships

As you all can imagine today has been quite an emotional day for us at The Pit Gym.

3.5 years ago Callum & Elaine sort of by accident set up a gym when there was potential job losses with his work.

Here we are 3.5 years later in another period of massive uncertainty.

Small businesses require cash flow to survive and we are no different. Since opening neither Callum or Elaine have taken a penny in payment from the gym, instead investing any profit back into new equipment to give you our members the gym you all deserve.

Onto memberships we had hoped members if they can afford it without causing themselves financial hardship continue to pay their fees, in return we will be offering at home workout programs, facebook live sessions (once we get a firm plan together) and following the all clear a gym to be able to return to.

But if you feel you do need to freeze your membership please either message the page or email [email protected] and this will be sorted immediately.

We are also looking into allowing members to rent some kit to help them train at home during this tough period.

We will be looking into what the government have said about small business grants etc and will explore all possibilities, if we are successful we will immediately freeze all memberships and arrange for a payment holiday for the time paid whilst we were closed.

We hope that the business is strong enough to see us through this period.

Well there we have it, we have now officially been instructed by Boris Johnson to close.

We hope that this will only be a short term measure.

We are now closed to everyone until we are given the all clear to open again.

Over the next few days we will announce details of live sessions and work from home programs will be sent out.

If you wish for a more personal plan detailed around equipment you have at home please send an email to [email protected] with a list of what equipment you have and we will be happy to send something over.

We are sorry it has come to this but hopefully it will be short term.

Boris Johnson has ordered cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants and gyms to close from tonight in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Ladies and Gentlemen

We have noticed that the gym is getting a little quieter which can only be expected at this time.

To help those of you whom have put yourself into isolation or to stay away for the safety of yourself or loved ones what can we do to help you?

We can look into arranging live workouts via facebook live or we can send home workouts if this will help.

With being in isolation mental health will become a major issue, exercise can help keep the mind & body healthy.

We are also looking at releasing some recipes including some immunity boosting meal packs over the coming weeks free of charge to all our members via email so if you wish to receive these please make sure your email on the clubright app is up to date.
