A great effort by everyone involved today. Numerous access and egress paths were opened up, providing access to so many pools on Beat 4 today. Other beats will be getting addressed over the coming weeks.

Yesterday, we concluded our annual introductory fly-fishing course. It’s been great to see the attendees gain the skills and knowledge needed to help them make a successful start in the world of game angling.

We can’t wait to see their progress in the coming months and years, and we hope to see some of their catches soon.

We are aware of the issue with the website and are currently working to resolve it. This is not our fault, as the person who was managing it is seriously ill. We are in the process of transitioning to a clubmate-hosted website, along with new updated maps. We will let you know once the new site and maps are ready to go live. Thank you for patience.

Last Thursday we held a fly fishing taster session in conjunction with the Angling Trust and Carole Sanderson for the Wears River Trust. This followed on from a successful demonstration during the river festival earlier in the year.

The session went really well, with all participants learning the basics of fly fishing and even getting the chance to fish on the river.

I hope you have all been able to make the most of the recent lift in water levels and managed to enjoy some action on the river. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait as long for the next one!

Today was our final session of this year’s coaching course, featuring the in-river demonstration. Thank you to all of this year’s participants — we hope you enjoyed it and learned a lot.
