We hope everyone enjoyed the 2026 Vale Men's Open. Once again, the event produced some excellent golf and a remarkably tight finish, with just a single shot separating the top five players and countback calculations ultimately deciding the final placings.
Congratulations to our 2026 Champion, Mike Haughtey, whose superb nett 68 secured the title ahead of a chasing pack on 69. As is often the case in competitive golf, each of those players will undoubtedly have a story about what might have been. Finishing just one shot back were last year's champion Paul Beasley, Martin Foley, and visitors Gary Hogan and Jake Jeff-Johnston.
Jake did, however, take home the Best Gross prize with an outstanding level-par 74 and also added a Nearest the Pin prize to his day's achievements.
The Longest Drive prizes went to Harrison Walker of Evesham Golf Club in Division One and The Vale's own Jon Newell in Division Two.
The majority of the Nearest the Pin prizes stayed firmly in Vale hands, with Paul Beasley, Mark Haynes, Gez Strangwood and Jon James all finding themselves among the winners.
It was almost a clean sweep for Vale members in the Two's Pot, with Mike Brown from Copt Heath Golf Club the only visitor to claim a share alongside Jeremy Mills, Tony Perks, Jon James, Luke Trotman and Paul Beasley, who remarkably recorded two twos during the round.
For Vale members, prize winnings will be credited directly to your Pro Shop accounts. Visitor prize winners will receive their Pro Shop vouchers shortly.
Thank you to everyone who supported this year's Open and helped make it another fantastic day of competitive golf at The Vale.
If you're a visitor and enjoyed both the course and the hospitality, we'd love to welcome you back for one of our upcoming events.
Entries are now open for our Blue Monster Open on Sunday 26th July and our Pairs Open on Sunday 13th September.
