What a weekend for our Juniors! We had the first NOTAN athletics competition for school years 3-6 at Churchill. 13 Hawks & Falcons ran, threw and jumped their hearts out, with some top 3 finishes to boot. It’s a great fun and friendly introduction to competition for our young athletes. Run entirely by lovely volunteers who create a supportive environment for all participants.

And an incredible Northumberland Schools Championships for our performance squad, under the expert coaching and guidance of Noel .

Joseph came first in the inter boys 3k with a championship record of 8:56! 😮
Kasper was first in the inter boys 800m
Tom was second in the inter boys 1500m
Ella was third in the junior girls 1500m
Ayda was third in the junior girls 800m
Ben was third in the senior boys 800m

Absolutely fantastic 💪👊🤩👏. We are so excited to see what our next gen green and golds are already achieving. Massive congratulations to everyone who took part and a huge thank you to their coaches and families for their support, time and effort. 💚💛

“People Need People”. Our beloved former chair Terry O’Gara once said that, and it has become the essence of Wallsend Harriers. No more so than on Saturday when our men showed up for Karl at the end of his epic Priory Ultra. 100k from Bamburgh to Tynemouth Priory. And he was 10th male! 💪Massive congratulations to Karl. Sending love to the whole family. 💚💛

What a Clive Cookson 2026! Not only did we get Dolly P on the t-shirt, but we also bagged 2nd men’s team, 1st v35 (Jimmy), 1st v55 (James D), 1st v45 (Emily) and 3rd v35 (Dan W) 🏅💪👊💚💛.

Another Wednesday, another road race. This week it was the NEMAA Road Relay Championships. A phenomenal silver for our women, after an exciting battle to the finish with Sunderland! Sixth place for our men’s A team. Great running from all our master athletes. 💪👊

Next up our very own Gordon Smith Relays! 😀See you on Wednesday. 💚💛

This is what grit looks like. This is what commitment looks like. This is what discipline looks like. This is what teamwork looks like. Absolute heroes braving the worst of the elements for their club and bringing back the bling! 🤩💪👊🏅

Massive thank you to our men and women’s team. And huge congratulations to our women’s vet team, bringing back a 3rd place NEMAA Championship medal. 🥳

Prizes are fantastic and we are v proud of our ladies, but it’s not why we do it. Relays and team events like this are a great way of giving something back to the club, feeling part of something special and it’s great training too! You don’t have to be fast and it won’t interfere with marathons or any other races you’re targeting. In fact, they can only make you stronger!
