Today we launched our brand-new class, Once Upon a Ballet, and what an amazing morning it was!

We welcomed a full class of little dancers taking their very first steps into ballet, with their “big humans” right beside them.

Our classes are based on creative pedagogy, an approach where children learn through imagination, exploration and play, rather than simply copying the teacher. The ballet was all there, beautifully hidden within the story, as we travelled down the rabbit hole and met a very naughty White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland! 🐇🩰

Thank you to all our wonderful little dancers and their big humans for joining us today. We can’t wait to see where our next story takes us!

ADULT DANCE CLASSES AT BUZZ!

Our adult classes are back from next week!

Whether you’re looking to try something new or reconnect with your love of dance, we have a class for you!

DANCE ON | General Level - Tuesdays 8.15–9pm
A fun, feel-good class for adults 18+. Keep fit, learn new moves, meet people and become part of our dance community. No experience needed!

DANCE ON | Graduate Level - Thursdays 7.30–8.15pm
For adults who trained to a high standard but didn’t pursue dance professionally. Rediscover your technique, enjoy challenging choreography and get back to doing what you love.

Both classes are FREE of charge, supported by Gateshead Council.

Places are limited and booking is essential.

The place they make lifelong friends.
The place they learn to be brave, creative and resilient.
The place they discover what they’re capable of.

At Buzz, we don’t just want to create great dancers.
We want to help grow great humans.

A childhood filled with music, movement, friendships, performances, laughter and memories they’ll carry with them long after the dancing stops.

We had a fabulous workshop with Adam from Ballet Lorent today.

Adam brought work from Ballet Lorent’s upcoming show - Hansel and Gretal. He gave the groups creative tasks, taking them through concepts from the show and of course the story.

It was a wonderful workshop from a very nurturing and creative dance artist ❤️

We’ll be putting together a group booking to go see the show!

We’ve had the best 3rd day! We’ll post photos soon but for now here is our full group Six routine.

Bringing professional performers into Buzz gives our young people the chance to learn from those working in the industry, experience something new and, most importantly, see where dance could take them.
