Tom Clark is our KHRC London Lion - he got a place for the iconic London Marathon in the club ballot. Thank you Tom for representing KHRC - we wish all the best!
This is how his training is going.

“Halfway through the training block for the London Marathon and things are, I think, going well.

I’m slowly building up the mileage and not suffering too much. I did my longest run yet last week in the North Pennines 25km in the hills and mud and snow, and this weekend was the Great Welsh Half Marathon.

I didn’t know quite what to expect from the half given I’ve been focused on marathon base training but managed 29th place in 1:23:37. Gives me a bit of confidence for the Marathon, which still fills me with a bit of fear to be honest!

Next I’m planning to try and do some marathon specific intervals around a race pace that is a bit of a guess at this point.

Thanks to everyone from the club for the support and advice so far and for the opportunity to do my first marathon at such an event as London.”
