SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER - RUGBY RETURNS FOR THE 1XV.

Preseason is done. The wait is over. Rugby is BACK and the Choccos are back in the National Leagues. 🍫

Months of preseason. Months of hard graft. Every session, every hit, every bit of work put in. But now? Game week is HERE. The National League 2 West campaign kicks off THIS SATURDAY away at Redruth and the lads are back where they belong.

The Choccos are back in the National Leagues and we’re ready to go to battle. Let’s get this season started right. Travel well boys.

Yesterday, over 20 youth coaches met with our Men's Head Coach, Alex Grove, as we launched our Coaching Development Pathway.

The aim is to align our M&Js across age grades and to give players a stronger platform. Knowing that once they hit seniors, their Coaching has allowed them to walk into our 1XV without looking out of place.

Our elite coaching setup will be hosting these crash courses every month throughout the season, and with so many in attendance, it shows how eager the youth coaches are to learn. Putting your children in the best possible position.

Some really great questions came out of last night's session; it will be exciting to see how this gets put into practice when our M&Js return in September.

Bournville put on an impressive show, but got the job done this season. See you again next year!

The lads have gone all out and made the coaches job of selection so much harder, but stood out in the 32 man squad and claims his first Bournville MOTM Award.

The boys now travel back to celebrate with the womens section on their 10th anniversary who are always partying the night away.

FIRST TEAM SHEET OF THE SEASON HAS LANDED.

Bournville are taking a 32-strong squad to Sheffield Tigers for their first, and probably only, pre-season friendly on Saturday August 22 (2.15pm).

The scheduled friendlies against Bromsgrove the following week, which were to involve the respective first and second teams, have been cancelled and are unlikely to be replaced by another fixture.

So all attention will be focused on this weekend’s match at Dore Moor on the south west fringes of Sheffield as Bourns step up their preparations for the opening National Two West match against Redruth on September 5.

The match against Sheffield Tigers is expected to be played in three periods so that every player in the squad is given game time and the opportunity to impress the coaches.

The squad includes a number of new faces including Barry Jones, a back-row forward from Old Swinford Hospital School where he was a team-mate of Oscar Fawkes-Underwood, former Leicester Tigers Academy centre Oscar van Deventer, prop Moise Tshiangala who has arrived from Hartpury University, fly-half Noah Beaty who has played for Walsall and Birmingham University, ho**er Tom King who has joined from Silhillians and centre Elliot Tanner who has followed his older brother Will from Bromsgrove.

Wing Aaron Esiri and back-row Harry Sigley reappear for the club with Esiri having rejoined from Lydney and Sigley, the more mobile son of former Bourns prop Rob, having finished his studies at Cardiff Met University.

One Club, One Focus: Bournville Rugby Club Launches Bold Five-Year Vision for the Future.

As we gear up for an action-packed season, our leadership team has finalised a Five-year Strategic Plan rooted in a "One Club, One Focus" philosophy—harnessing our collective strengths to build a great future together.
To maintain our facilities and ensure we are positioned to execute this plan, we will be implementing a slight increase in subscriptions this season.

This covers our essential operating costs and supports our long-term ambitions, including:
• Relaying and upgrading our 3G pitch surface.
• Installing padel courts.
• Expanding the clubhouse and balcony.
• Transitioning to solar-generated power and an on-site water bore-hole to aleviate rising utility costs and reduce our carbon footprint.
New for this season
• Coaching & Mentorship: Our 1st team elite coaches will work directly with all section coaches to raise standards club-wide,

To link the M&Js sections to the senior club though first XV home games activities on Saturdays.
We are building a culture of excellence and connection and we’re thrilled to have you with us for the journey.
