The Anatomy of Morality – Episode 5:

In the previous episodes, we built a framework for moral judgement and tested it against sacrifice, professional obedience, censorship and the deliberate violation of individual rights.

In the final episode, we turn to self-defence - a case where an act can begin as completely justified and become morally wrong only seconds later.

We will apply the six criteria one final time, examining victimhood, harm, intent, alternatives, justification and proportionality, and ask where legitimate self-defence ends and excessive force begins.

This final case exposes one of the most important principles of the series: moral judgement must concern the particular act being examined. The same person can act justifiably in one moment and become the perpetrator of wrongdoing in the next.

The Anatomy of Morality - Episode 4: Censorship: Protection or Control?

A journalist exposes government corruption. The evidence is real. The response is censorship, confiscation and imprisonment -justified in the name of public order.

Censorship can sometimes be presented as protection. It can also become a tool of control. The difference depends on the details.

Episode 4 of The Anatomy of Morality.

Enjoy!

The Anatomy of Morality - Episode 3:

In the previous episodes, we explored the foundations of moral judgement and tested our framework against one of the most famous ethical dilemmas in history: The Trolley Problem.

But what happens when morality is no longer a thought experiment? What happens when ordinary people, educated professionals and respected institutions become involved in acts of extreme cruelty?

In Episode 3: The N**i Doctor, we examine one of the darkest chapters in human history and ask a fundamental question: When science serves evil, who is responsible?

We will explore the difference between Responsibility, Liability, and Accountability, and we will apply the moral framework from Episode 1 to a real historical case, analysing intention, obedience, justification and personal responsibility.

Join me as we examine one of the most important questions in morality: Can following orders ever excuse the deliberate violation of human rights?

Follow The Absolute Yin and stay tuned. The search for truth continues.

The Anatomy of Morality - Episode 2 is coming tonight:

In the first episode, we explored some of the foundations of morality - the main ones being the six criteria of moral judgment:
1. Victimhood
2. Damage / Deprivation of Rights
3. Intent / Awareness
4. Lack of Justification
5. Alternative Course
6. Disproportionality

How can we move beyond personal feelings and opinions to create a consistent framework for understanding morality?

Tonight, we put that framework to the test - Episode 2: The Trolley Problem - a simple thought experiment that has challenged philosophers, ethicists and ordinary people for decades: Is it ever morally acceptable to sacrifice one innocent person to save many others?

Join me this evening at 18:00 BST as we dissect one of the most famous moral dilemmas in history and examine what it reveals about human judgement, responsibility and the principles behind our decisions.

Follow The Absolute Yin and stay tuned. The search for truth continues.

Most of you can't distinguish right from wrong, and then have the nerve to complain about society and the human condition. So let's take it from the basics, shall we?

I'm launching a short series called "The Anatomy of Morality" with the aim to cover the most fundamental principles of morality, how to consistently tell right from wrong, understanding Natural Law and other moral frameworks through (surprise, surprise!) basic common sense, and hopefully annihilating the cancer of moral relativism for good.

Subscribe on YouTube, Facebook and TikTok to get notified for the next episodes (all links in the first comment).

First episode airing Mon Aug 24 at 19:00 BST.
