SO Dancehall Fitness is a Jamaican style cardio and dance programme. SO Dancehall Fitness is influenced by many types of music including reggae, Calypso, reggaeton, Zouk, hip-hop and African but dancehall is the genre that really makes this workout spicy, authentic and so much fun to do. In each class clients are taken through simple steps which are built upon to create a hot, fun dance routine wh
ich is performed at the end of the class. This class is for everyone who is mobile. There is no pressure to be precise and enough repetition for the routine to be memorable. ancehall music is a hot phenonmenom straight from Jamaica. The dance moves are energetic, sometimes crazy, magnificent to watch and even better to do. Dancehall music and dance are global. You just have to visit Youtube to see examples of people from all over the world getting into the dancehall vibe! Many moves seen in hip-hop dancing derive from dancehall (or bashment). A lot of dancehall movements have been created at Jamaican parties and events (like Passa Passa and Freaky Fridays) in an improvised fashion. Leaders in this popular form of dance include: the late great Mr Bogle (the Bogle), Ding D**g (Skip to ma Lou) and Dancehall Queen Mad Michelle (Dutty Wine). Traditionally, the more technical dancehall moves are performed by men. Whilst the softer and less complicated dance are done by women (like wining - rotating the hips in a sensual circular momtion). However, our SO Dancehall Fitness programme mixes and blends the styles to exude only the best and fun movements. Explicit - Not Here! Dancehall music tracks can be fun, jovial and pleasant for all to hear but unfortunately some tunes contain profanity and sexual references. SO Dancehall Fitness instructors always use music that contains lyrics that are user friendly. You will find NO SLACKNESS HERE! The same goes for the moves!
