He spent years on stage being paid to be loud. Now he engineers quiet.

Danny Lenihan's 3 Legged Thing took a gamble on a small stand at the NEC in 2025 and got mobbed for three days. Two years on, the tripod maker returns in 2027 with a range built for shooters, from stalking tripods to moderators, some of it already in service with UK police forces and the British Army.

First thing through the doors, and first on most visitors' kit lists.

Bl**er Group has held its spot just inside the entrance since 2016, and CEO Frederic Hanner has told us what 2027 brings: a live Build your dream r***e configuration with Sauer, where you assemble the r***e yourself and leave with a code for your dealer, plus two custom shop Bl**er r***es revealed on the stand.

Up to two thirds of the people working it are the group's own UK retailers, so your local gun shop may well be there to meet you.

Almost everyone in the hall holds a certificate or is applying for one.

The latest police figures show licensing performance falling for a fourth consecutive quarter, permits up 83% over five quarters and the certificate-holder base down 2.8%. New applications are now counted separately from renewals: the number that decides how quickly newcomers join the sport.
