Trans+ friends take note 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈!

So stoked be asked back to run more sessions with Birmingham LGBT! I can’t wait.

I ran six sessions last summer, and had an amazing experience training with a large amount of amazing people, helping to pass on some skills and boosting a little confidence.

The feedback was positive and the main request was for MORE SESSIONS!

I am so pleased - and blessed - to be able to come back and do more.

MASSIVE CONGRATS CHECK!

Here stands the mighty Salt, having passed his G1 test this weekend.

Salt has trained with me for ages, starting as a private student back in 2018 odd, moving away, then returning to train in class some time after the pandemic.

As a deaf person, Salt has overcome this barrier to training and thrived in an environment designed for hearing people.

STOKED!

As a veteran health and fitness professional - I am a qualified PT and fitness instructor as well as a martial arts/self defence coach - I am SO HAPPY to have finally completed this exceptional coaching certification.

However as an unmedicated AuDHDer with a busy existence, it has taken an extremely long time to actually do so 😂

Worth it. Where there is a will there is a way! And those of us on the ADHD spectrum - we just gotta keep trucking and we will get there, by hook or by crook.

I’m looking forward to adding nutritional knowhow and support to those that would like me to help them, and as a result wider push to start combining all the elements of what I can do professionally as parts of a greater whole.

Looking forward to the next stage 🖤💚🩷✌🏼

Training out the back with limited visibility and uneven terrain!

We worked a few grabs/clinches (to body or neck) indoors and ways of escaping, before making things harder in the dark.

Then we mucked around slow fighting to look for ways of entering these grabs, and then letting your partner get out of them.

Play/slow fighting is a great tool, it’s low contact thus low stress, low speed so easier to recognise attacks/patterns and recall what to do.

Also tons of fun!
