Walmley Weekly Honours Board 05/06

Peter Shackleford makes the Honours Board for the third time this season, with a powerful 117*(106) against Leamington. The all-rounder has made it onto the Honours Board for his bowling this year, and reaches it with the bat for the first time with his first hundred of the season.

David Clough makes it onto the Honours Board for the first time with a spellbinding 7/14. “Rodders” has been sensational in the 2nd XI’s push for promotion, consistently putting in clutch batting and bowling performances throughout the summer when the 2s have needed him the most.

Walmley Match Results 05/06 September

A largely successful weekend for the Walmley, with no outright defeats and 4 victories across the club which saw 3 centurions courtesy of Peter Shackleford, Louis Chaundy, and Andrew Hendry, a 7fer delivered by David Clough, and a hattrick by none other than Kiefer Woods!

The 2nd XI are almost guaranteed a 3rd place finish, needing 4 points to put themselves in contention of a chance at promotion to Division 3, depending on the Playoffs.

The 3rd XI are mathematically safe, and go into the final day with no threat of relegation.

As the Cricket season is coming to a close, our own Men’s Senior Football side have kicked off their league season!

Gaffer Jack Jones has written a match report for everyone to read, and we’ll be posting ALL fixtures and match results for the lads!

Andrew Hendry rolled back the years and dazzled Eldon Drive with a brilliant 103 against Castle Bromwich.

Hendo has been at the club since he was 5, and played for the 1st Team when he was 15. In terms of his batting, he has amassed over 7500 club runs! Our first team captain, Jonathan Newis, played pairs cricket with Hendo together for the club and all their youth/senior cricket all the way through to the 1st Team. Hendo has also done virtually everything at the club, from running a mini league side - to assisting with groundwork.

Hendo has been in Australia for the last 7 years, and is 1st XI Captain for the Williamstown Imperials and they play their cricket in the Victorian League in Melbourne. He plays alongside his brother, Callum, and former Walmley 1st Teamer Tom Burton.

Hendo is a Walmley man through and through, and we’re delighted he’s one of our own.

Walmley Teamsheets 05/06 September

The 1st XI aim to finish 3rd as they travel to Leamington, with a returning Aaron Thomason in the side!

The 2nd XI press on for promotion, and host Castle Bromwich at Eldon Drive. Andrew Hendry plays his first game of the season, as will Callum Herron (rain stay away!).Please come down to Eldon Drive and support the lads in their push for promotion!

The 3rd XI need a positive result and other results to go their way to go into the final day with no stress about relegation!

The 4th XII host Catherine de Barnes at Spring Lane in a friendly.

The Sunday 1st XI travel to Earlswood in their final game of the season, and gaining a few points would guarantee safety in the Arden Premier Division.

The Sunday 2nd XI have Julian Dexter back at the reigns as they host Bharat Parivar at Eldon Drive in their final game of the season.
