If you’re ever in need of assistance with your shooting during sessions, our club coaches are here to help you alongside our Head coach Megan to be the best archer you can be!
They have all become qualified in coaching or are in the process of doing so and they can’t wait to meet you!

Megan Costall will be our head coach for this year. As a previous member of UBAC for 3 years and a professional archer for ArcheryGB she is highly qualified and returns in her second year as our head coach. This means she will be continuing to help us become the best archers we can be!
Here is a bit about her:

Bowstyle:
I shoot a recurve bow!

Favourite UBAC memory:
Winning silver at the Berlin open indoor championships with fellow UBAC member Ben Pepper as my coach

Setup colour:
my competition bow is a mix of sea green and dark green with gold accents - it reminds me of lost ocean treasure.
My spare bow is a chameleon pigment that shifts between green and purple with multicolour accents (it’s going to be my indoor competition bow so keep an eye out)

Top tip for new members:
for those of you that want to compete - enjoy yourself and put your all into it while doing so
For those of you that don’t want to compete - make friends and enjoy all the little skills archery will give you along the way

Fun fact:
In the time that I am not coaching the wonderful archers at UBAC, I compete in archery professionally for GB (if I’m stressed this year plz be kind, I’m trying to get Olympic spots for LA 2028)

Favourite round:
I fear it would be sacrilege for me to say anything but the Olympic round… WA720 and Head to Heads

Favourite UBAC memory:
This club has been the source of so many fond memories and friendships for me throughout my time at university. It is far too difficult for me to pick just one, especially given this will be my sixth year in the club!!

Setup colour:
Black + Red, because it is the best colour combinations of course.

Top tip for new members:
Try to get involved wherever you can, come along to our regular sessions, attend socials, compete and discover everything the club has to offer, we’d love to have you as part of our community. Also, make sure to attend Agincourt, I didn’t in my first year and ended up regretting it.

As of this year I will be the sole longest serving member of the club (6 whole years!!)

Favourite round:
Portsmouth

Here’s a bit about her:

Role:
My role in the club is the Equipment Officer!

Favourite UBAC memory:
A lot of the social events, especially sharing my first time ever at the Christmas Market with UBAC!
