After months of hard work, countless emails, and so much time spent preparing, we locked the gates on Sunday evening feeling proud.
When we took over in August last year, we had big dreams. One of those being to host our very own tournament, bigger than ever before. I think it’s fair to say we’ve exceeded any expectations.
Every single team, both Maypole and visiting, played their games in such high spirits, with sportsmanship and respect throughout - truly refreshing to see! Our team of coaches and committee members worked their socks off across the two weekends - a huge part of the success.
This is a club built on passion, togetherness and inclusion - all values on display in abundance over the last two weekends. A club where we aim to create a sense of belonging, instil belief, and chase success both on and off the pitch. It’s a club we’re proud of, and we hope you are too.
Thank you to all the teams that joined us, to the many stalls, vendors, and small businesses. To all the referees, without you there would be no games. To our incredible coaches, committee members and volunteers for your time and effort. And finally, to our incredible community for turning up in your numbers and showing support.
This is just the beginning.
