🎿💙 A Safeguarding Result to be Proud Of! 💙🎿

We are incredibly proud to share the outcome of Midland Ski Club’s recent safeguarding audit with Snowsports England — with all six safeguarding standards MET and an overall GREEN rating! ✅

But what means even more to us is the feedback we received:

“This is one of the best audits I have seen.”

The audit recognised the excellent safeguarding culture within our club, the visibility of safeguarding information, the quality of our policies and, importantly, the commitment shown by our volunteers and coaches.

Safeguarding isn’t something we do simply to meet a standard. It is about creating a club where every child and young person can feel safe, supported, included and able to enjoy their sport.

A huge thank you to everyone across Midland Ski Club who plays a part in making that happen. 💙

WOW… WHAT A DAY FOR TEAM CESA! 🤩⛷️💙

What an incredible day of racing at the CESA Head-to-Heads!

We couldn’t be prouder of every single racer who represented Team CESA with determination, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship. The standard of skiing throughout the day was fantastic, but what shone through above everything else was the incredible team spirit.

From the first racer on the slope to the last, everyone encouraged each other, celebrated successes, picked each other up after tough runs and represented their clubs with pride. That support, respect and camaraderie is exactly what Team CESA is all about.

A huge thank you to our amazing coaches, volunteers, race organisers and families. Your commitment, encouragement and countless hours behind the scenes make opportunities like this possible.

🥉 BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS PODIUM! 🥉

A huge congratulations to Tommy on an outstanding performance at the British Championships, securing an incredible 3rd place!

To stand on the podium at a national championship is a fantastic achievement and is a testament to the hard work, dedication and determination Tommy has shown throughout the season. Competing against the very best in the country and finishing with a British Championship medal is something to be incredibly proud of.

A massive thank you also goes to the coaches, volunteers and family who have supported Tommy every step of the way. Success like this is always a team effort.

What an absolutely incredible achievement in an exceptionally competitive field. Walter, your hard work, dedication, mental strength and determination have all paid off today, and we couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve accomplished. You have truly earned this title – congratulations from everyone at Midland Ski Club! 👏💙

A special thank you also goes to Roger and Matt (Walter’s Dad) for their outstanding ski preparation, coaching and unwavering support. Behind every great performance is a fantastic team, and today was no exception.

Another fantastic weekend on the slopes for Midland Ski Club! ⛷️💙

Some of our racers hit the fridge this weekend, and with that came even more podium finishes! But at Midland Ski Club, skiing has always been about so much more than results.

It’s about community. It’s about family. It’s about supporting one another, celebrating every achievement, and helping every racer become the very best version of themselves. We are incredibly proud of every single one of our racers, whether they’re stepping onto the podium, setting a personal best, or simply giving it their all.

A very special shout-out has to go to Amber – one of our original racers and a true role model, not only for Midland Ski Club but for the sport as a whole.

Amber has absolutely smashed the Indoor GBR Series, finishing as the overall fastest woman – an incredible achievement that is thoroughly deserved! 🥇

It’s been such a privilege to see you back on the slope doing what you do best. Your dedication, resilience and passion continue to inspire the next generation of racers coming through our club.

And to top it all off, what a special weekend for you with the British Grand Prix too – celebrating your other passion! 🏎️

Staying safe during a heatwave 🚨

The Met Office has issued a severe high temperature warning across the UK over the coming days. While we know you’ll still want to hit the dry slope, it’s important to stay safe in the heat ☀️

Hot weather can impact anyone but especially older adults, children, those with health conditions and anyone spending long periods outdoors.

Here are some simple ways to stay safe while skiing or riding:

💧 Stay hydrated — drink plenty of water, even if you’re not thirsty

🧴 Protect your skin — wear high-factor SPF and reapply regularly

🧢 Dress smart — lightweight, breathable layers + protective equipment only when required for racing or training purposes

🧠 Listen to your body — take breaks and watch for signs of heat exhaustion

🤝 Look out for others — especially younger or less experienced participants

🛻 Avoid unnecessary travel during peak heat & don’t bring pets in hot weather

✅ Check local updates from your club or facility

⚠️ If you or someone else shows signs of heat exhaustion, move somewhere cool, hydrate and cool the skin. Seek urgent medical help if symptoms worsen or don’t improve.

Don’t forget that training has moved from Swadlincote to the SnowDome this Thursday due to the high outdoor temperatures.

🎿 Slope pass allows skiing until 10:00pm

Coaching will take place during the first two hours, with extra free skiing available afterwards.

🏆 Midland Ski Club Championships 2026 Results 🏆

The results are now in from the Midland Ski Club Championships 2026 at Swadlincote Snowsports Centre!

A huge congratulations to all the racers who took part. Despite some challenging weather conditions, everyone put in a fantastic effort and produced some great racing throughout the day.

Well done to all of our category winners, medalists and personal best achievers. It was great to see such strong competition across all age groups and a fantastic atmosphere both on and off the slope.

A massive thank you to all of the volunteers, coaches, officials, gate judges, parents and supporters who helped make the event possible. Events like this simply couldn’t happen without your support.

Ash is widely regarded as one of the leading ski coaches on the dry slope circuit, with a wealth of experience developing racers of all ages and abilities. Known for his technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to get the very best out of every skier, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the most respected coaches in the sport.

What an incredible day at the Midland Ski Club Nationals! ⛷️🏆

With over 170 skiers taking to the slopes, and a day that brought us a bit of everything — wind, rain and sunshine — it was another truly special Club Nationals, just as it always is.

A huge thank you to every racer, volunteer, official, coach, parent and supporter who helped make the day such a success. Events like this simply wouldn’t happen without your commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork.
