BLACK COUNTRY SUPER LEAGUE
GAME 3 ⚫️⚪️🔴
This week saw the team playing at home to the Cue & Brew. After a good first 2 games they were in high spirits but it wasn’t to be as they faces the first loss of the season with a gutting 5-0L.
GAME 1 - Dave Hopkins was up first. Going 3-1 up very steadily it looked to be the game to set us up for a competitive match. However his opponent came straight back with a 13 Dart Leg which may have spurred him on to win the next leg, although in a scrappy fashion, it brought level, and the first game was down to a deciding leg. Dave struggled to keep up with the scoring and unfortunately lost. End result being 3-4 Loss with a 53.59avr
GAME 2 - Liam Fox up next, Searching for his first super league win. He came against a great opponent who flew out the blocks with a 15 Dart Leg. Liam missing darts in the next leg was the turning point as his opponent went on to win that one and the next 2 legs in 15 and 18 Darts scoring 3 Maximums. Unfortunately Liam didn’t get his win this week and lost 0-4 with a 65.86avr
GAME 3 - John Evitts was on 3rd, a Huge ask for him as he’d have needed to win for the team to have a chance to come back into it. He had a great first leg, winning it in 18 Darts. The doubles weren’t so kind in the next leg, as he missed 6 darts by very fine margins and his opponent brought it to 1-1. John struggled to keep up with the heavy scoring of his opponent and that put him on the back foot, not getting another shot at a double. John lost 1-4 with a 66.35 avr
GAME 4 - Matty Lloyd on 4th. With the game already lost it was just a case of limiting the damage. Although not being behind by much to his opponent, matty only had two shots at a finish in the entire match. His opponent had a great 4th leg in 14 Darts, and in the end it was a 0-4 loss for Matty with a 70.62
GAME 5 - Final game of the night. Alfie Busby stepped up for his first game of this season. Having stepped out in the first couple of games to give new players some game time, as well as having been struggling with his own game, he was apprehensive. But in the end he played some steady darts against a good opponent. It was a tight game through, going 3-1 down it was a challenge to get back into it, but hitting a 180 and a 14 dart leg drove him on to bring it to a deciding leg. Scoring was matched closely all throughout the last leg but missed darts from Alfie saw him losing 4-3 with a 75.27avr
🎯In the end our Northfield boys lost 5-0, it was always going to be a tough game but the score line doesn’t reflect the close game that was played.
