Hope you've had a great summer break, but time to get back on that court.

Final game of the 2026 year for us today down in Southampton against the newly formed Sun Oaks team.

Bit of a slow start for us but it didn’t take too long for us to get into our stride and started to play some nice bball and utilising some of the moves we have been working on in practice.

Our defence, zone or man, was stifling and in one qtr our opponents only scored 3 points in 10 mins. A fair bit of fast breaking off our defence got us a lot points today with our speed up court being impressive.

Lots of very good individual moments at both ends of the court for us today and top scorers with 26 points each were Ryan and Will.

Nice end to a great season for us and myself Ahmet and Joe hope you all have a great summer and look forward to seeing you all next season Coach Ian

Abingdon Eagles U12s secured a thrilling 35–34 away victory against Southampton Suns & Oaks in a game that went right down to the final whistle.

Both teams played with great energy and determination throughout, with the lead changing hands several times. The Eagles showed excellent teamwork, strong defence, and composure under pressure to stay in the contest until the very end.

With the score separated by just a single point in the closing moments, Abingdon Eagles held their nerve to claim a fantastic win. It was a brilliant team performance, with every player contributing to a hard-earned victory on the road.

Well done to all the players on an exciting and memorable result!

U13 Girls Friendly Tournament 🏀

A fantastic afternoon of basketball today as Abingdon Eagles, Northants and Derby Trailblazers came together for a great afternoon of U13 girls’ basketball.

Each team played two games, with all matches consisting of 2 x 12-minute rolling clock halves and two timeouts per game. It was brilliant to see so many girls out on court, competing hard, developing their game and, most importantly, enjoying their basketball.

A huge thank you to Northants and Derby Trailblazers for making the trip to Abingdon and helping make the day such a success. Special thanks to Northants for bringing along free fruit for all the players, and we hope everyone enjoyed the pizza afterwards!

A big thank you also goes to all the parents for giving the girls the opportunity to take part and supporting them throughout the day. Your support makes events like this possible.

A special thank you to our young referees and table officials, who volunteered their time and did a fantastic job throughout the afternoon. Without your help, events like this simply wouldn’t be possible.
