It is with great sadness that we share the news that our close friend Stan (Scalley) sadly passed away yesterday.

As a club, we are absolutely heartbroken. Stan was much more than someone we worked alongside at Cooksey, he was a close friend to so many of us and a huge part of the football community.

He was always there for a chat, always willing to help, and someone who will be deeply missed by everyone at Starlands Warriors.

Our thoughts, love and deepest condolences go to Stan’s family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him at this incredibly difficult time.

On 29th August, Cooksey was already set to host a charity mental health game. The organisers have now also decided to make the fixture a memorial for Stan, with 50% of the proceeds being donated to Stan’s family.

We hope as many people as possible can come along, support this fantastic cause and help us remember Stan in the place where he spent so much of his time.

Rest in peace, Stan. You will be hugely missed. 🖤

We are looking to arrange pre-season friendlies ahead of the new season.

Newly formed adult side, we’re looking to test ourselves, build match fitness and prepare for our first campaign in the Birmingham County League.

We are available for Saturday fixtures with a 14:00 kick-off and are happy to host at Cooksey Lane Playing Fields (B44 9QU) or travel to opposition if preferred.

A huge congratulations to our U12s who took part in the Muddy Run at Sandwell Valley this morning, raising an incredible £1,600+ (Donations and Gift Aids)for Cancer Research! 👏🏃‍♂️💙

This is exactly what Starlands is all about – coming together as a team, supporting a fantastic cause, pushing yourselves out of your comfort zone, and making a real difference.

A massive thank you to all the players, parents, and coaches who took part and represented the club so brilliantly today. Your effort, determination, and team spirit were outstanding.
