Our Member of the Month for December is THE AVALANCHE!!!🌪️☃️

Henry has spent first semester doing an amazing job at captaining 2UBU. He has increased numbers at matches, led the team to some superb performances, and worked hard to improve the development of the men’s side, all while managing the admin that comes along with “ostensibly leading arguably the most important part of MUBU”.

Henry has balanced this role with also being a (Senior) Social Sec, doing a great job at fundraising at our Christmas Meal. He is the glue that holds us all together and we can’t thank him enough for bringing Mafalda into our lives. Sir Josiah Mason would be proud. We can’t wait to see him introduce the Blizzard Stack at the Mondo Match…🤯

Our Member of the Month (covering October and November in this case), is THE BOY!!!🥹🤯😮

Yusuf has shown great commitment to UBU through his captiancy at both UXIR and UMIR as well as in his role of TD in which he has completed his busiest two months with flying colours.

💬Men’s 1s Captian, Joe Miller, has stated: ‘it’s tiring being a captain and he kept up the energy and quality all weekend both times’. He has also been described as an ‘effective player and professional on the pitch’ and has put in ‘consistent strong performances’.💬

I think we can all agree that Yusuf’s development as a player, captain, and committee member has put him well on the way to being a man!

🥏!WUBU BUCS Weekend!🥏

Really well played to all those that took part in the WUBU BUCS games last weekend! After their successes from last year, they showed once again they’re going to be a strong force this year! 🎉

Results -

5-3 Cambridge ✅
8-3 Oxford ✅
7-0 University of East Anglia ✅
4-13 Nottingham ❌

These results put the club in a great position going into the next WUBU BUCS weekend, bring it on !

🥈🥏 !!UMIR!! 🥏🥈

Another great week for UBU competing at Men's indoor regionals this weekend!

After some hard-fought games, the 1st team prevailed and beat both Warwick and Cardiff in their final games (having lost to them earlier in the tournament!) to take 2nd place and qualify for Division 1 regionals.

2UBU showed their strength last weekend with some great results against some top teams. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed out on a spot at Division 2 Nationals but beat Bangor in their final game to take 7th place.

Well played to everyone who took part this weekend and to those who didn’t, thanks for your support!

2UBU BUCS Wednesday…

Huge well done to 2UBU beating Nottingham 2s 14-10 on a rainy Wednesday!

🏅🥏 !!!UMXIR!!! 🥏🏅

A fantastic weekend for UBU at Mixed Indoor Regionals last weekend with teams across the board making real progress and taking some big wins!

1UBU - 🏆 Champions!🏆 The 1s win the tournament with an all-round dominate performance. They didn’t loose a single game all weekend!

2UBU - 5th and Qualify for Division 2 Nationals, the first time in a while for UBU! Some strong performances where it mattered seeded them 5th and means UBU will be sending 2 teams to nationals.

3UBU + 4UBU - 10th and 11th! For teams made up of predominantly freshers some great results here and a really great opportunity for what was most peoples first “Serious” tournament.

Bring on nationals!

MUBU Games update from this week…

Both mens teams were in action this week on what turned out to be a rather wet Wednesday BUCS afternoon.

1UBU were in action against 2s taking a solid 9-4 win back to Birmingham. Good start lads 👌

2UBU (who are not featured in this post due to weather conditions prohibiting a photo) had a tough game against 2s - 14-3 loss 😞 Still plenty more games to play though!

🎉 !!Socials 3.0!!🎉

The past Fortnite saw another super Sports Night and Sober Social. First Tight and 🌈Bright🌈 Sports Night! The costumes were great and it was good to see so many freshers taking part in the “Earn your Stripes” challenge!

Then Tree Top golf ⛳️ Some great putting (as well some not so great shots!) but an all round fun night 😀

!!A big weekend just gone for UBU!!

First, a fresher team went to to compete in a tournament hosted by the Bears. It’s fair to say they did pretty well - winning all their games!!! 🏆

Then, WUBU went for some BUCS practice also at Warwick. And guess what… 🏅 THEY ALSO WON ALL THEIR GAMES🏅

A fantastic weekend for UBU, bring on regionals next week!

Hello! We’ve got another training tomorrow 2-4pm Selly Park which everyone is welcome to come along to. Don’t worry if you’ve not made it to a session so far, we’d love to see you there🤗

Bring lots of water and football boots if you have them (trainers are fine if not). If you have any questions feel free to send a message.

If you are going to be using google maps then don't type in Selly Park, as it will take you to the wrong park. Type in Birmingham St Mary's Hospice, as the park is right next to it.
There will also be a walking bus from Old Joe if you’re not sure where to go which leaves at 1:45pm.

Also check out the sports night event that's on tomorrow night (by clicking sign up^). Its great fun and a great way to get to know everyone. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.😊
