🇰🇷 KOREAN TERMINOLOGY 🇰🇷

Below you will see a video taken from our recent grading, featuring one of our students , just 7 years old, grading for Blue Belt and answering Korean terminology.

Gradings are not only about the physical side of Taekwondo. While students are tested on their techniques, sparring, and patterns, there is also a strong mental aspect involved throughout the grading process. 👊🏻🦶🏻

As our sport originated and was developed in Korea, we believe it is only right that we honour and respect the language, history, and movements that are taught within Taekwondo. These values are something we hold to the highest standard within our club.

As you can see in the video, our student passed her terminology section with flying colours, answering every question confidently and respectfully. We would like to say a massive congratulations to her on being promoted to Blue Belt – 4th Kup! And also receiving the highest attendance of the grading 👏🏻🔵

This is proof that anything is possible when you put the hard work, dedication, and effort in. Keep up the amazing work! 💪🏻

A massive well done to all of our students who attended Sparring Squad this evening 🥊

Tonight’s session focused on developing footwork, controlling distance, attacking with multiple techniques, and building solid defensive skills. We worked not only on maintaining a strong guard but also on using intelligent footwork to move out of danger and create better opportunities.

As always, we finished the class with several rounds of sparring, giving everyone the chance to put their training drills into practice in a live environment. 👊🏻

It’s fantastic to see the progress each student is making week after week. Your hard work, commitment, and willingness to learn are really paying off, keep it up! 👏🏻

A special thank you to Coach Dean, who stepped in this weekend and put our sparrers through a great workout while Coach Ella and Master Woods were away. Your support is greatly appreciated. 👍🏻

🥋 JEE GOO CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 🥋

We are now well over halfway through this year’s Jee Goo Championships, and with only 3 more Jee Goo events left to earn those vital points, this year’s title race could go right down to the wire!

Over the last 5 months, our students have been battling it out in competitive sparring classes, earning points in the hunt to be crowned Jee Goo Champion 2026. Some students are beginning to create gaps in the league tables, but at this stage every single point matters.

This championship has now been running for 2 years, and it has quickly become one of the highlights of our classes. Everyone looks forward to competing for the chance to wear the championship belt around their waist and earn the gold emblem on their club t-shirt — both worn with pride and honour.

🥊 POINT SPARRING CHAMPIONSHIP — WHAT A DAY! 🏆

A massive well done to all of our students who competed today in our Point Sparring Championship. 👏🏻

Every single student competed at a very high level, with everyone determined to take home a medal. The competition throughout the day was competitive, exciting, and intense, but most importantly respectful. All students showed fantastic sportsmanship towards one another, and sometimes that means more than any medal ever could. 🤝🏻

Congratulations to all of our winners taking home medals today, and also a huge well done to all students who received runner-up certificates. Every single competitor should be proud of themselves. 🥇🥈🥉

We would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped make today possible. To all referees, counters, timekeepers, fundraiser helpers, and everyone behind the scenes — thank you for your support and hard work throughout the day.

Most importantly, thank you to the Woods family. This was a very special day in memory of Master Paul Woods, and we are honoured to continue celebrating his legacy through events like this. ❤️

POINT SPARRING CHAMPIONSHIPS 🥇🥈🥉

A massive good luck to all of our students competing today in our Point Sparring Championships. 🥊

Today is about much more than medals, it’s about confidence, courage, respect, sportsmanship, and supporting one another as a club family. We are proud of every single student stepping into the Dojang today.

Students will be competing for medals, and all runners-up will also receive certificates in recognition of their hard work and effort. Alongside this, competitors will be earning valuable points towards our Top Competitor 2026 competition, with a special trophy being awarded at the end of the year to the student who collects the most points throughout the year. 🏆

Whilst today will be full of fun and competitiveness, we also ask everyone, students, parents and supporters, to continue showing respect and sportsmanship throughout the day regardless of results. All referees will officiate fairly, and we want today remembered for the positivity and encouragement. 🤝🏻

Today is also especially important to us as we honour our late founder, Master Paul Woods, during his 10th anniversary year. His legacy, values, and passion for taekwondo continue to live on through our club and every student training today. In his memory, all entry fees, raffle proceeds, and part of our cake sales today will be donated to the British Heart Foundation ❤️

Thank you to everyone supporting today’s event. Let’s make it a fantastic day filled with respect, teamwork, and great memories.
