What could be better than enjoying the sight of the sun slowly setting over the Irish Sea providing the backdrop to the magnificent lighthouse at New Brighton. Well a pint to go with it wouldn't be bad but that will come soon enough.

An interesting look at the industrial side of the Mersey at Rock Ferry this week.

On the banks of the Mersey at Rock Park there is a feeling of peace and solitude during the early morning. Visiting at low tide and walking to the end of the slipway takes you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and bring a certain peace of mind.

Back on to the proper side of the Mersey this week with a visit to West Kirby. A very sunny spring day and very busy around the lake.

On the continuing theme, from last week, of mental health I find myself not feeling comfortable in crowded situations these days , after a year of avoidance it is hard to break the habit. Whilst I was taking this footage I placed myself out of the way of the foot traffic but during the time a family felt the need come through the gate onto the landing stage and stand next to me, albeit 6 foot apart, strange but it did bother me . I am sure normality of some sort will return.

Something a little different this week , a wander on the other side of the Mersey at Crosby Marina in Waterloo with my mother.

One thing that this brought home was the need for people to start leading a normal life again after a year of lockdown. Mental health is important and after a prolonged period of isolation a simple stroll in the sunshine can be a huge boost. I have been lucky that having the drone and being able to go fly it provides that boost, others are just beginning that journey.

The footage taken is not the best I have done but the act of taking it is sufficient in its own right.
