Little south coast staycation 🇬🇧

So many beautiful places to explore, without the hustle of an airport.

We hopped on to a ferry to the Isle of Wight, enjoying the slower pace of life and the warm microclimate🌴.

The opulent Osborne house in East Cows reminded me of the beautiful palazzos in Sicily.

Then made our way around the Jurassic coast 🦕 of Dorset. Blue skies, clear waters and temperatures in the mid 20’s. What’s not to like? 💙

We are in Britain though, so of course it’s raining now 😂. But this year we are loving every drop ☔️.

🍁 Stretch, Flow & Glow 🍁

This Saturday, join me for an extended time on the mat. We’ll spend two beautiful hours together in a luxurious, slow-flow practice, giving the body plenty of time and space to open up.

Expect lots of joint mobilisation, a good shake out to release some of the built up tension, and plenty of time to settle into longer held poses towards the end of the practice.

What to expect:
🍂 An unhurried pace
🍂 A full body, well balanced practice
🍂 Mobilisations and feel-good movement
🍂 Longer held poses
🍂 A peaceful, dedicated studio
🍂 A healthy snack to enjoy afterwards

Everything you need for your practice is already at the studio, so just bring yourself, your comfy clothes, and a willingness to dedicate some time to filling up your own cup and glowing from the inside out.

Apparently September is a good time to introduce yourself. Since I haven’t done so in a while, and there are some lovely new followers here, I thought, why not?

My name is Katya, short for Katerina, but except for one person, nobody calls me by my full name.

I was born and brought up in the Czech Republic, and I came to England 30 years ago to study English. I’ve always had an affinity with all things English, and somehow I’ve fitted in. I guess it’s my dry sense of humour 😆.

I am a yoga teacher with varied interests in Somatics, energy and sound healing (you may not know that I’m a Reiki Master), nutrition, Ayurveda, Chinese Five Element Theory, meditation and other Eastern practices.

I’ve dipped my toes into many practices and disciplines, being a seeker and a nerd, but yoga is, and probably always will be, my first love.

I’ve been teaching since 2013 and in 2015 I fulfilled my dream of opening my own studio. I feel very lucky to do what I love, and I enjoy helping people to settle, find stillness and connect to their own inner wisdom. I’ve been told many times that my calm nature helps people to relax.

I genuinely love spending time in the gym, lifting weights. I’m stronger in my 50s than I’ve been in any other decade of my life.

I have green fingers and love growing flowers, herbs, fruits and veggies, and creating meals from whatever produce I have available.

If I wasn’t teaching yoga, my second choice would be catering for yoga events (which I do on a small scale for my own retreat days).

I love nature, and as I get older, I appreciate all of the seasons and the different gifts they offer.

I don’t have a social media strategy. I don’t use hooks or follow trends. I use mostly my own pictures and I share what inspires me, my yoga offerings and some positive vibes. Nothing too polished, because life isn’t like that.

So, that’s a little bit about me. I’m always learning, always curious, always coming back to my mat.

If you are new here, welcome. And if you’ve been around for a while, thank you for being here. I’m very happy you are. 💕

Snapshots from the last days of summer. ☀️🍦🌦️

That bittersweet feeling of summer slowly slipping away. Making the most of the sunshine. Enjoying a rainy day. Watching the Sturgeon Full Moon out of my window. Squeezing in coffees, lunches and ice creams with friends.

One of the highlights was going solo to a conference on consciousness and human evolution for a workshop with Gregg Braden . I met lots of lovely people and ended up sharing lunch with a stranger, talking about intuition, following our calling and trusting where life leads us.

So much of Gregg’s message reminded me of yoga philosophy, and this quote I often share:

“The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness. Only when there is stillness in movement, can the spiritual rhythm appear, which pervades the Heaven and Earth.”

Summer, you’ve been lovely, long and profound. ☀️💛
Autumn, I’m ready for you. 🍂🧡

The magic of August.

Evening walk turned into hedgerow foraging.

We didn’t come home empty handed.

Pockets full of cobnuts, fingers stained purple from the sweetest blackberries.

Precious gifts from the long, hot summer.

Savouring the last of the summer sun.

There’s a palpable sense that change is coming.

The bitter-sweet liminal space of transitions. Summer slipping away and autumn gently arriving.

Secretly looking forward to wearing jumpers and jeans though. It’s been a while! 🤪☀️🌼🦋🩷

🍂 Autumn Equinox Alchemy Sound Bath

On the evening of the Autumn Equinox, when yin & yang, dark & light, night & day are in balance, you are invited to come and pause.

A gentle evening of slowing down, reflecting, going inwards and honouring the turning of the season.

To begin, there will be some gentle movement, helping you to arrive in your body and settle into the space.

Then, a chance to set an intention for the slower, darker season ahead, before letting go completely into the crystalline sounds of the Alchemy crystal bowls. Nothing to do but receive.

The sound is felt as much as heard. Subtle vibrations moving through the body, inviting deep relaxation, spaciousness, and quiet inner stillness.

Time for silence and rest after the sound gently fades will complete the evening.

Nothing you need to bring. Come as you are. Let the space, sound and stillness hold you.

Wednesday 23rd September
6.30–8.00pm
£30

Spaces are limited. Message me to book yours.
