We regularly post about the exploits of our younger players and coaches but this week we have a motivational story from Dave Houseman.

Dave teamed up with Margate legend and club President Lynn Giles to play in the Hythe Coastal Open in the Mixed O40’s.

Dave put all his skills he teaches into the matches and alongside Lynn recorded a 6-2 6-1 victory to lift the title.

Both are now working full time and building successful careers in tennis 👍🎾.

What defines you as a player, person and champion is how you deal with disappointment, losses and life challenges and that’s exactly what Jack has done this week by winning the singles men’s Kent Championship 2026 title.

Showing resilience and determination Jack overcame the Number 1 seed 6-4 7-6 in an unbelievable battle.

Congratulations Jack who lifts the title for the second time 💪🎾🏆

Being on multiple tennis club committees I see first had the incredible work carried out by volunteers week in week out. These people are beating the heart of our tennis community and they deserve a huge shoutout 📣🎾
