We have had a very succesful season in the West Wolds Leagues. Recently we secured the League title for the West Wolds Afternoon League 2024 by beating Osgodby on shot difference. Well done to all the players who brought the trophy to Binbrook once again.

The West Wolds Evening League has proved to be equally competitive and the title is going down to the wire with the title being decided by the winner of the Binbrook v Osgodby match. Once again great performance from all involved.

A belated thanks to Rene and all the members from Waltham Bowling Club who played the annual return match last week at Binbrook. As usual they brought plenty of members and it is one of the fixtures that we all look forward to. The sun shone brightly and we just managed to keep our hands on the trophy.

Waltham Friendly 2024

Once again we enjoyed the hospitality of Waltham Bowling Club and a big thank you to Rene and her fellow members for a very enjoyable days bowling. A special thank you to everybody who provided the barbecue, cakes and refrehments.

We are looking forward to returning your hospitality and I am sure you all will be looking to return the cup to Waltham on your visit to Binbrook. The picture shows Billy receiving the cup from Rene.

With the weather proving favourable, members turned out in force to prepare the green, clubhouse and perimeter area for the new season. The grass was cut and scarified, the slitting machine was in action and the green was treated for moss. The clubhouse was given a thorough cleaning and over the next few weeks the work will continue to have the green ready for April and the start of the new season.

We are a very friendly bunch down at Binbrook Bowling and Boules Club and we would be delighted if anybody who lives in the area, (especially if you are new to the area) called in to see what we are about. In addition to the bowling facilities we also have three boules courts (one indoor) which are proving to be very popular. If you are interested in having a go at bowling or boules please give Vincent a call on 07484 281588.

July Tuesday Roll Up Winner (Chris Beavis)

Congratulations Chris,
Despite all the rain in July the Tuesday roll up stalwarts managed to get 3 games in. Winner for this month is Chris Beavis (again!) followed close on his heels by Graham.

We were rained off the first match in August but there are still 4 to go. Will we have a new wiiner this month?.........

Special Mention to the Cake Makers

To all who provided the delicious cakes to support Neil on the day. At 10:00am and the heavens teeming down it looked as though we could be left with a lot of cakes.

Come 3:00pm everything was devoured! Seriously we have some fantastic bakers in Binbrook.

Fern Nursery Charity Open Day

Despite the weather Neil Timm (Fern Nursery) hosted another very succesful charity day once again and raised over £350 for various charities. Binbrook Bowling Club are proud to be associated with his efforts. Over 110 people visited the garden and came from all parts of Lincolnshire even as far as Newark. Quite a few people had visited previously so you must be doing something right Neil. A very special thanks to Neil, Rose, Kathy, Keith and all the people who made the day such a success.
