RESULT

Lions 4 - 3 Pot House

League action today and finally our first 3 points on the board, trying out the pitch next to us after turning up today to find out the goalposts had gone from our pitch. With both teams having a few new faces in the line ups the first 15 mins were scrappy and everyone finding their feet.

We got the breakthrough with Danny Malc cutting in from the Right getting a shot off and it blazing in to the net. Assisted by Andy Townsend.

We pushed on growing in to the game controlling the midfield and pushing to find another. The second with Danny Malc beating his marker and getting a low cross across the 6 yard box for Dylan Brown to thump it home.

Half Time 2-0

Second half we started with the momentum and got the third again through Danny Malcolm. 3-0

Pot House got back in to the game making it 3-2 from set pieces, we got the decisive fourth and Danny Malcs hat Trick, beating the offside trap leaving himself one on one and finishing it past the keeper. 4-2

Pot house still pushed but we saw the game out as 4-3 winners.

There was some brilliant performances today.

Man of The Match Danny Malcolm with 3 goals 1 assist

Sean Fowler a recent addition put in an outstanding performance from left back not shying from tackles and constantly a threat to opposition.

Our 2 centre backs today, Connor Booth 16yo settled in excellently alongside veteran and returnee Olly Barker a great pairing making those tackles and controlling the game from the back.

Everyone played their part today, with 16 available it’s a step in the right direction. We go again next week in the Cup

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄

We’ve been very quiet on social media over the summer with a lot of uncertainty within the club!

Throughout preseason we’ve struggled to field a full team, averaging 8 players from last seasons squad but we’ve recruited and rebuilt.

Many reasons why we’ve lost players we guess some don’t fancy the big leagues and we’ve had to bring people in some having come and played 90 minutes every game from the moment they arrived.
Players having to play out of position just to see out the friendlies.

We delayed the start of our season for 2 weeks to give us that extra time, so far we’ve played 2 Midweek games in the Prem and results haven’t gone our way but we take away the positives. Results below.

I want to Thank the lads who’ve stuck with us some being on the verge of wrapping it in but we’re nearing the end of the storm.

With the management team bringing in some great additions we look to continue building and turn the results around in the coming weeks!

This Sunday we play in form Manor, who will certainly be a tough task to deal with but we keep improving week after week.

Result ✍️

Quick recap from last night, we played our final away game of the season against Stag & Monkey, a team who will no doubt make more of an impact next season a team that has some big potential.

We started slowly and went one down within 5 minutes, picked ourselves up and got back in to it.

It was a competitive first half with stag making it 2-2 for us to go straight up the other end from kick off to put us back on the front foot.

The fourth seemed to kill the game just before half time and the slaughter started.

Using the pitch to our advantage allowing our wingers to stay wide and drive at their defence.

The game finished 9-2 to the Lions which is an unfair result for the first half performance from the Stags.

We go into our final game this Sunday with it still all to play for but we’re now Smallcrafts biggest fans.

RESULT ✍️

After Fridays disappointment we looked to put things right in the league, keeping the pressure on Rimswell.

We started well and had most possession with a few absentees the 11 that started created chances, it took 15 minutes to find the first with a set piece corner from Deacon Hutchinson flicked on from Billy Harland and the front dropped to Andy Townsend to take it under control and slot it home to put us 1 up. 1-0

We continued to control the game and found a second with an excellent forward ball from Lewy H***e at the back the JPs midfielder flicked it on for Andy Townsend to be left one on one with the keeper and made it look simple to go 2 up. 2-0

JPs pulled one back from a free kick on the edge of the box. 2-1

Half Time 2-1

Second half we expected JPs to want it with the momentum created from the goal just before the half but we still controlled the game however for the first 30 minutes of the second half we decided that we’d rather just kick the ball anywhere apart from towards the actual goal.

Eventually with a few subs made we managed to change our fortunes with the ball in their half and the team high up the pitch, Paul Miles picked up the ball on the edge of the box, to pass it to Deacon Hutchinson who’d moved in to the box ready to beat his 2 markers with quick feet and beat the keeper to make it 3. 3-1

The fourth came from good work down the left Tom Colquhoun pushing on from his full back position, played a neat outside of the foot pass through the back line of JPs for Danny Malcolm to find the space and again in a one on one he made it four. 4-1.

JPs again pulled on back but we saw the game out. 4-2

Today wasn’t our best performance but having just played 2 days before we did well with some who didn’t play much Friday showing their value to the squad keeping the pressure on Rimswell in to our final week we go with a game Thursday then finishing it off Sunday morning.
