🎣 In Memory of Alan Sharpe 🎣
Today we say goodbye to our good friend Alan Sharpe, one of the true characters and much-loved members of the Old Boys Fishing Club, who spent many happy years fishing here at The Grange on their exclusive bookings.
Alan was always a pleasure to have on the lake. Whether it was watching him quietly go about his fishing, seeing the excitement of another capture, or hearing the laughs and stories shared between the boys, he became a big part of the memories made here over the years. His passion for fishing and the friendships he shared with everyone around him were clear to see every single session.
He landed some fantastic fish at The Grange, but more importantly, he brought good company, good humour, and genuine warmth every time he visited. Alan will be sorely missed by all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him and watching him enjoy the sport he loved alongside his pals.
Rest in peace on the banks of the sky Alan… we hope the rods are bent and you’re catching absolute whackers up there mate ❤️🎣
To honour Alan’s time at The Grange, Simon is putting together a memorial plaque which will be placed on the bench between pegs 1 & 2 — a fitting place to sit, reflect, and remember him. This coming winter we will also plant a tree chosen by his wife Dawn, so that a part of Alan will always remain here at the lake he enjoyed so much.
From all of us at The Grange, thank you Alan. It truly was a privilege to have met you, to watch your fishing journey here, and to share in so many memories with you and the boys over the years.
Tight lines forever mate 💙🎣
