AND WE ARE BACK !!!

Finally the first game of the season for the men’s is here so all the house work and cleaning the car can wait !!

Come down and support the boys who are looking to hit the ground running with a big season ahead.

AFC OLYMPIA are a new team in the league but are a mixture of new players and TITAN RESERVES from last season , a team who is looking strong off a good pre season.

Let’s just hope their footballing skills are better than their dance moves 😉

AND THATS THE END…

A disappointing loss to a good Badsey side sees the men’s finish the season coming back from Evesham with 0 points.

The men’s had chances to equalise in the first half but could not find the back of the net this week.

A big thankyou to Neal Thomas for taking over in the sticks the second half of the season doing a great a job as well.

THIS WEEKENDS FIXTURE

The Men’s face a good Badsey Rangers Sunday FC side to finish off their 2022/23 season.

With Badsey losing their mid week fixture to Bidford Hurricanes they will be looking to finish off the season with a win but with Bidford Men’s Fc looking as strong as ever it will be a tough test for both teams !

Bidford mens came into this one on the back of a narrow 3-2 defeat but Fortis came into it with confidence after a 5-0 victory in their previous game.

Bidford mens started off strong with a few half chances but against the run of play Fortis found the back of the net to make it 1-0. The chances for Bidford kept coming and the mens managed to pull it back to 2-1 just before the half with goals from Max Thomas and Roman Faulkner in quick succession.

In the second half Fortis came out strong but were denied goals by 2 diving, fingertip saves from goalkeeper Neal Thomas, which spurred on the mens as Josh Grice found the net to make it 3-1. The goals kept coming as Roman put in the perfect cross and Jacob Nailor diverted it home with a diving header. Another goal followed from James Morris who bundled the ball into the back of the net after a few attempts to make it 5-1 to ensure all 3 points are secured.

This week the Men’s travel to Badsey Community Centre to face Fortis who sit 5th in the league.

After last weekends loss the Men’s look to get back to winning ways to try and get as many points as possible in the closing weeks of the 2022/23 season

Bidford Men’s Fc 2 - 3 Tewkesbury Athletic

Bidford men’s fall short and Tewkesbury Athletic leave The Big Meadow today with the 3 points after a late free kick was converted by the Tewkesbury forward.

Bidford started off on the front foot with Roman Faulkner adding another goal to his tally when he was on the end of a worldie pass from Nathan Grubb.

Shortly after Tewkesbury Athletic levelled it up with a scuffed shot from their striker which caught the keeper off guard and the ball trickled into the net.
From this Tewkesbury were on the front foot and scored not long after giving them the one goal lead.

In the second half it was Bidford who had the better chances a shot from Louis McDonald was saved by a Tewkesbury outfield player leading the ref to send him walking to the side lines. This saw Roman Faulkner covert from the spot to make it all level.

The men’s side was looking for a winner but with Tewkesburys back line being like a brick wall this was hard.

It was then in the last 5 minutes of the game where Tewkesbury convert from a soft free kick which was the goal leading to them leaving Bidford with the 3 points.

This Sunday will see the Men’s side back down at The Big Meadow where they face a tough Tewkesbury Athletic side who currently sit 2nd in the table having only lost 1 of their 15 fixtures this will prove to be a tough test , But hopefully Bidford can continue their strong form and cause an upset !

MATCH REPORT (Sunday 16th April 2023)

BIDFORD 10 - 0 BENGEWORTH

After a convincing 5-2 victory in the Bidford Derby against The Hurricanes, following goals from Josh Grice (2) Roman Faulkner, Jason Batts and Charlie Thomas, The Bidford Mens looked to continue their winning ways and next faced Bengeworth at The Meadow. The Bidford Mens got off to a flying start when Josh Grice put away the first corner of the game. Shortly after, Josh Grubb found himself in space just in front of the half way line and fired a rocket into the top corner. After going 2-0 up the goals kept coming, Josh Grice scored again to make it a brace, followed by goals from Jason Batts, Charlie Thomas, Max Thomas, a thunderbolt from Louis Mcdonald and a second league hat trick from Roman Faulkner.

Next week The Bidford Mens have a tough game at Home against league leaders Tewkesbury , as we look to move into the top half of the table
