💥Donkey Diary 22nd August 2026 💥
Another super Grand Day Out at Kenwith Castle Care Village ❤️.
It’s our second year going there, there were lots of visitors and the weather was perfect.
We were amazed to have been selected for an award from the care organization! The Kenwith folks had suggested us for it . They peressnted us with a huge Cheque for £1,000 ! It is very much appreciated and we will put it towards the Mudcontrol blocks to finish off our yard floor.
Thank you SO much Kenwith ! ❤️❤️❤️

🌧️Donkey Diary 27th Aug 2026 🌧️
Well, I really hope this glorious summer is not over quite yet - but … we did need the rain ! 14 mm last night and I haven’t seen puddles for months !

🌖🌒Donkey Diary August solar eclipse 2026 🌒🌖
Of course we had to watch the 99% eclipse this week. The sky was absolutely clear for the first time ever ! There is a special grey light that only comes during eclipses and I was SO lucky to catch it on the camera.

🦵☀️Donkey Dairy 10th aug 2026 ☀️🦵
Sarah is much better today, at last ! Tiny has a curiosity fit over my sandals and Pete gets into troubke for scrounging 😁
Thankfully both Peter and Small are no longer lame 🤞.
We have been very hot at merry harriers and having a quiet but steady time with the customers.

👩‍🌾Donkey Diary 5th August 2026 👨‍🌾
A Grand Day Out at the North Devon Show !
The sun eventually came out, there were lots of people and Bertie, Charlie and Pierre did our first reasonably good demo ever ! We even got applause !
Sadly, we were too busy doing it to film it so afterwards we did a small repeat in a little area next to our pitch. We were joined by a lady from the crowd who did a splendid job considering she had no idea what she was supposed to be doing ! 🙂😂🤣
Our friend Liz Barrett ❤️helped us all day and read the commentary on our demo as well as taking pictures and filming - thank you Liz !❤️
Now we have to practise a bit more so we can enter the All-Steps Formation Riding’s September competition. Would you like to join in ? Give us a shout in the comments 👍

☀️Donkey Diary 31st July 2026☀️
Sarah is still feeling poorly but on the bright side Small is much better today and nearly walking normally. With help from Bart and bribery by throwing a few pony nuts at a time into a bucket I managed to have a good look and dig more stones out of his heel hole. Hopefully that’s done the trick.
Poor Peter has come in lame again🤦‍♀️but not hoppy. Fingers crossed he’s just trodden awkwardly - on Tuesday he was completely recovered from his foot abcess . Sometimes it seems an uphill struggle.
I caught them asleep in the pony shed with young Symon showing his still a baby ❤️

☀️Donkey Diary 29thJuly 2026☀️
Home from Merry Harriers : Molly is very glad to see Kiwi home, Peter seems to be better now from being lane and has been doing a few rides. Bart went off in the afternoon to meet Alan the farrier at home to have a look at Sarah’s poorly foot.
Alan found the abcess and released it but Sarah is still pretty sore but does look less miserable. We found her with bashes on her foot and knees - we think those naughty youngsters have been trampling on her 😡. So now she is by herself on a big straw bed in the Pony shed and being spoilt as much as we can.
And what else did Bart and Allan find ? Pablo is now lame! 😱. Alan found a stone in his heel and we all hope he’s just got a bruise.
Both donkeys would be very happy to receive a bit of love from you all too ❤️

🌕Donkey Diary 27th July 2026🌕
Our second week giving rides at Merry Harriers.
This time we were able to take Peter as he see se much better from being lame. He is very pleased to be with Kiwi and got into the horsebox with almost NO fuss at all ❤️
Unfortunately bad news usually accompanies good - poor Sarah has another nasty foot abcess ( why ? In all this lovely dry weather 🤷‍♀️). The farrier did find it though so we hope she will be back on her feet in a few days’ time.
