Hi all.
Many thanks to all who have had a look and liked my page.
You will not find a more stable portable shooting platform.
I have some details and specifications of the Burnt Metal Shooting Platforms for those interested.
Platform details and specifications.
Heavy duty metal frame using 40mm x 40mm steel with a 3mm wall thickness. The frames metal work is covered by a 5 year guarantee covering the frames and welded parts. The frames are powder coated for long term protection.
The frames have 2 positions for left or right handed shooters. The 2 frames simply slot together. Each frame weights about 8.6kg.
The feet mounting points in the legs are made using M12 40mm long threaded bar connectors, rather than just nuts, which are welded into the legs giving a large contact surface for the M12 100mm long feet to screw into. This allows up to 50mm of height range per foot to cater for uneven ground or a taller preferred shooting height. It would also allow the platform to be used on a slope of up to approximately 10°. Wing nuts are used for setting the height desired. No tools are required for height adjustment.
The feet can be supplied with a choice of smaller 50mm wide rubber feet for hard ground, like a concrete range floor. These can be used on grass and dirt also. The better option for grass and dirt is the larger 100mm wide hard composite feet however these are not very good on hard ground like concrete as they tend to slide. Or both can be supplied should you want.
The upper fittings in the frame, which attach the wood top, are design to be replaced very easily using a 13mm spanner should they wear out or become damaged. The parts are all readily available M8 metric fittings.
When disassembled, frame 1 including the feet, measures 780mm high, 600mm long and 48mm wide. Frame 2, including the feet, is 780mm high, 608mm long and 40mm wide.
The top is made from a solid Beech kitchen worktop with a 27mm thickness. It is attached to the frame using 3 finger fittings. No tools are required for assembly.
The wood is treated with 5 coats of Danish oil with uv protection. It should be treated as you would a kitchen surface and needs oiling at least annually. More if in extreme climates. The surface is waterproof for brief periods. Should it get wet a quick dry off is recommended. As per the recommendations of use any standing water should be cleaned off as soon as possible or staining could occur. The wood is covered by a one year guarantee but with care should last far longer. I recommend using the clear adhesive surface protection patch for the rear of the wood surface should your rifle have a metal butt plate as this will likely mark the wooden surface. 2 patches are included and can be fitted before shipping if requested.
A far more basic 18mm ply wood top can be supplied if preferred reducing the price.
The top has a hand slot to aid assembly and removal and has bubble floats built into the surface, on both sides, to indicate if the platform is level.
The standard size platform has a top surface height of 780mm, which can raise to 830mm using the feet.
The taller version is 30mm higher at 810mm. It can be raised to 860mm using the feet.
The top has a length of 1000mm and a width of 600mm.
The total assembled weight is approximately 27kg.
When disassembled the total platform, if stacked against a wall etc, requires a storage space of 1000mm height, 608mm long and 120mm wide. It can be stored by hanging on a wall using hooks.
Burnt Metal Shooting Platforms also makes storage work benches which can hold up to 10 shooting platforms. These measure approximately 1750mm long, 600mm wide and 900mm tall.
Every aspect of Burnt Metal Shooting Platforms design is made to last a very long life and have easy, fast assembly with simple part replacement.
The price for each Burnt Metal Shooting Platform is £599. I can offer discounts on multiple platforms.
Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
