We are delighted to let you know that our application to Tesco Stronger Starts has been successful and our Club will be put forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores. Voting will commence in store from the first week in April 2025 until the end of June 2025.

Our project is to purchase some back stroke boards for the club to help our swimmers to improve their back stroke , which will help them when competing in galas and competitions.

The project with the highest number of votes across our region will receive £1,500, the second placed project £1,000 and the third placed project £500.

Stores which will vote on our project are:

Bexhill Superstore TN40 2JS – Ravenside Retail Park
Bexhill Express Express TN39 3PU – Collington Avenue
Bexhill Express Express TN39 4SL – Little Common

To vote, you will need to make a purchase within store of any value. You will receive one blue token per transaction. If you are not offered a token please don’t be shy to ask for one!!!!!!

The result of the voting should be known by early August.

I noticed this on a page today, following last night discussion about harnessing the mind I thought it might be of some use. It’s hoped that at least some of the rats made it!

During a BRUTAL study at Harvard in the 1950s, Dr. Curt Richter placed rats in a pool of water to test how long they could tread water.

On average they'd give up and sink after 15 minutes.

But right before they gave up due to exhaustion, the researchers would pluck them out, dry them off, let them rest for a few minutes - and put them back in for a second round.

In this second try - how long do you think they lasted? 🤔

Remember - they had just swam until failure only a few short minutes ago...

How long do you think?

Another 15 minutes?

10 minutes?

5 minutes?

No!

60 hours! 😳

That's not an error. 🤷🏼‍♀️

That's right! 60 hours of swimming.

The conclusion drawn was that since the rats BELIEVED that they would eventually be rescued, they could push their bodies way past what they previously thought impossible.

I will leave you with this thought:

If hope can cause exhausted rats to swim for that long, what could a belief in yourself and your abilities, do for you?
