A Hole-in-One to Remember!

Apologies to Steve Rose that this didn’t make it into last week’s newsletter, but we couldn’t let such a fantastic achievement go unmentioned!

During the Ramsay Nicolson Competition, Steve achieved his very first hole-in-one, finding the bottom of the cup on the 5th hole. What a great moment and a fantastic achievement to have recorded during a competition!

A hole-in-one is something every golfer dreams of, and to get your first one is certainly a milestone to remember.

Delivering the course in such great condition after a brutally tough summer was a massive achievement. Congratulations to Nick Lloyd, who won the Ramsay Nicolson trophy this past Sunday with a fantastic performance!

Nick clinched the victory in the nett competition while also putting up phenomenal numbers across the board:

Winning Nett Score: 64 + 67 (131)

Actual Gross Score: 69 + 72 (141)

Highwoods ladies Academy

Brilliant day in the sun for our ladies academy putting lesson.
The ladies over the past couple of month have come on leaps and bounds and are getting ready to hit the course.

Well done ladies for a very enjoyable day.

Also a special thank you to our ladies captain Doreen Upwood for attending the session and the lunch after to get to know the new ladies.

Congratulations to Our Club Champions!

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners after a fantastic day of golf in warm, breezy conditions. With the course playing firm and fast, accuracy was at a premium throughout the day.

Men’s Club Champion: Harry Bradbury
Ladies’ Club Champion: Alison Bough
Ditton Trophy (Best Nett): Viv Chatfield
Highwoods Trophy (Best Nett): Harry Bradbury

Harry’s course management was outstanding, choosing to hit his driver just four times all day. On a course where precision was more important than power, that strategy proved to be the winning formula.

Alison also produced a steely defence of her title, showing great composure and determination throughout to once again hold on to the Ladies’ Club Champion crown.

Congratulations to all our champions and everyone who took part in a superb Club
Championship.
