SWMC Social v The Mix
I bet everyone gets fed up with me saying ”another great night of darts” but this was truly one of those. Mix went 2-0 up in the pairs with Ady Gent and Neil Thompsett first up then Andy Fountain with Jamie Thompsett. Social pulled one back through Ady Boyle and Trevor Roberts. Riley Brown made it 3-1 with a steady win over Pat Mortimer, then Andy Fountain beat Ady Boyle, Andy admitting he is on top form recently. Steve Slatter managed to pull a game back with a 2-1 over Jamie, Steve having two good start of 160 and 157 in the two legs he won. Callan Gent got over the line versus Bob Bartholomew 2-1 then young Oscar Gunston pulled off a great victory against Dan Chinnock 2-0. Then came what was arguably the game of the night, Adam Thompsett and Chris Connon, Adam went 1-0 up back came Chris with a magnificent 161 finish in the second leg. That didn’t phase Adam who came back to win the third leg with Chris struggling to get away. That left the result relying on the triples and, probably appropriately Andy Fountain hitting the winning double to record the win for the Mix.

This match went one way then the other right to the end. Social went 2-0 up in the pairs then Bull hit back to win the last pairs and took the first three singles to go 4-2 up. Back came the Social with three of the old boys, Ady Boyle, Steve Slatter and the evergreen octogenarian, Bob Bartholomew to give them a 5-4 lead. The Social won the triples to give them a 6-4 victory. Ady Boyle has set a high bar already in the highest checkout with a 160!!!
