Today I was heartbroken to hear of the tragic loss of Nirmal "Nimsdai" Purja and his team on Broad Peak in Pakistan.

Nimsdai was one of my greatest inspirations. His mindset, determination and belief that "nothing is impossible" encouraged me to get out walking, challenge myself, and realise that we are capable of far more than we often think.

He didn't just climb mountains—he inspired thousands of ordinary people to push beyond their own limits and embrace adventure.

My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family, friends, teammates, and everyone affected by this devastating tragedy. The mountaineering world has lost a true legend, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

Rest in peace, Nimsdai. Thank you for showing us what is possible. 🏔️💙

Foresters Coffee's favourite dog is celebrating the only way he knows how: a proper walk with all his doggy friends. So if your four-legged pal fancies joining the birthday boy, come along — all dogs (and well behaved humans) welcome as always.

🌿 One year. What a way to celebrate it.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our 1st Anniversary Community Walk along the River Ouse — what a turnout, and what a day.
We kicked things off with something special on tap: blackberry, grape & watermelon co-fermented cold brew 🫐🍇🍉 The perfect send-off before hitting the trail.
From there the day delivered — woodland paths, the old Roman road, a WW2 pillbox still standing guard, and the South Downs rolling out beside us. English countryside at its absolute finest. The weather was kind, the views did not disappoint, and the dogs? Absolutely thrilled (Weimaraner-approved 🐾).
Halfway round we paused for a well-earned break at The Anchor Inn 🍻 — good company, good spirits, and just the right amount of rest before the loop home.
A year of coffee, community and miles walked together — thank you for being part of it. Here's to the next one. ❤️

🌿 One year of Foresters Community Walks — and we're celebrating with something special! 🥳
This Sunday we're swapping our usual route for one of Sussex's hidden gems: the Isfield to Anchor Inn Walk along the beautiful River Ouse 💧
📍 Meet & park: Isfield Recreation Ground, TN22 5EY
🕙 Time: 10am (a little earlier than usual!)
🚶 Distance: 4.6 miles (7.5 km)
Tucked between Uckfield and Lewes, Isfield is pure Wealden magic — water meadows, willow-lined riverbanks, old lock and weir remains, and some of the most stunning countryside in the county. You might spot herons, kingfishers, even an otter if you're lucky. We'll follow the Sussex Ouse Valley Way down to the river, past Isfield Lock and the weir, down to the Anchor Inn and back, with dreamy views the whole way. It's the kind of walk that stays with you. ✨
The forecast's looking cooler, which means dogs are very welcome this time! 🐾
A few friendly notes so you know what to expect:
🥾 There are a couple of stiles to climb over
👶 Not buggy-friendly, sadly — but if your little one can manage the distance or you're happy to carry them, you're absolutely welcome
💦 Bring water, a snack, and a little something for your four-legged friend too
🧥 Dress for the countryside (and comfy shoes!)
And because it's our first birthday, everyone who joins us gets a free Cold Brew waiting for them on us. 🥤☕ It's our way of saying thank you to this lovely community.

☕🥾 No community walk tomorrow — happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! The shop is open if you want to treat your old man to a proper coffee!!🎉 The following week marks ONE YEAR of our community walks! 🥳
We can't quite believe it's been a whole year of fresh air, good chats, and even better company. To celebrate, we're planning something a little different — so keep your eyes peeled. 👀
