I was walking along the promenade the other day and noticed something.

There were plenty of grandparents out with their grandkids enjoying the sunshine.

Running around.

Playing.

Having fun.

And it got me thinking…

For some people, that’s effortless.

For others, they’re constantly aware of their back.

Their knees.

Their balance.

Their energy levels.

They’re thinking about how they’re going to feel later.

They’re avoiding getting down on the floor.

They’re sitting and watching rather than joining in.

Most people assume that’s just part of getting older.

I don’t.

I’ve seen too many people in their 50s, 60s and 70s completely change how they move and feel once they start building strength.

Not because they’re trying to look different.

Because they want to enjoy life more.

That’s what strength training gives you.

The confidence to be involved instead of watching from the sidelines.

I’ve got a couple of free taster session spaces available next week at my private gym in Bexhill.

If you’d like to feel stronger, move easier and enjoy more of the things you love doing, send me STRONG and I’ll send you the details.

The weather in Bexhill has been unreal lately!

And when the sun comes out, you really notice how much easier life feels when your body feels good too.

Long walks along the seafront.
Sitting outside with family.
Playing with the grandkids in the garden.
Trips to Egerton Park.

These are the things people want to enjoy more of.

But for a lot of people in their 40s, 50s and 60s, aches and pains start getting in the way.

Sore knees.
An aching back.
Feeling stiff after sitting down for too long.

A lot of people assume that’s just part of getting older.

It doesn’t have to be.

Most of the people I work with simply want to move more comfortably, feel stronger and have the energy to properly enjoy life again.

That’s exactly what strength training helps with.

Nothing extreme.
Just building your body back up so everyday life feels easier.

I’ve got a couple of spaces for free taster sessions in my private gym in Bexhill next week.

If you’d like to feel stronger, move easier and enjoy more of this weather without worrying about aches and pains, send me STRONG and I’ll send you the details.

Most people in their 50s and beyond are focusing on the wrong thing.

They think they need to stretch more, do a few classes, or just take it easy.

But the biggest difference maker?

Strength.

This is the age where you might start noticing:

• Aches in your knees or back
• Feeling stiff getting off the sofa
• Lower energy than you used to have

Or even…

You’re down the seafront with the grandkids and want to run around with them…

…but your body doesn’t quite feel up to it.

That’s not just getting older.

In many cases, it’s your body losing strength.

The good news is, you can turn that around.

With simple strength training you can:

• Support your joints
• Feel stronger day to day
• Move with more confidence
• Have the energy for walks along the seafront or Egerton Park
• Keep up with your kids or grandkids

This isn’t about smashing yourself in the gym.

It’s about building a body that supports your life.

I’ve got a couple of free taster session spaces available at my private gym in Bexhill.

If you’d like to feel stronger, move easier and have more energy day to day, send me STRONG and I’ll send you the details.

Being strong doesn’t mean what most people think it means.

Most people aren’t chasing big lifts or gym numbers.

They just want life to feel easier.

No aching back after a walk.
No worrying about the stairs.
No feeling wiped out halfway through the day.
No struggling to keep up with the Grandkids.

They want to feel:

Stronger
More capable
More confident in their body again
More energised

That’s what I help people with.

Not crazy workouts.

Just simple strength training that makes everyday life easier.

I’ve got a couple of free taster spaces at my private gym in Bexhill.

If you’ve been thinking about doing something but weren’t sure where to start, send me STRONG and I’ll send you the details.

“I’m probably too far gone to start now.”

I hear this a lot.

Usually from people in their 50s and 60s.

Back’s been playing up for years.
Knees feel stiff.
Energy isn’t what it used to be.

So they put it off.

The reality is most people I work with felt exactly the same before they started.

A few weeks in, things begin to shift.

Stairs feel easier.
Walking feels smoother.
Dog walks feel more enjoyable.
They feel more confident in their body again.

You don’t need to be fit to start.

You just need the right starting point.

One of my clients shared this with me recently and it really sums up something I hear quite often.

She told me she’d always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with exercise.

Like a lot of people, she’d start things with good intentions but struggle to stick to them long term.

Fast forward a little over 6 months and things look very different.

Her sessions progress week by week as she gets stronger, and she told me she now leaves feeling energised and invigorated rather than exhausted.

She said:
“I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with exercise but this has been right up my street and it’s the longest I’ve ever stuck to anything like this. I’ll definitely carry on.”

That’s what strength training should feel like.

Not something you dread, but something that helps you feel stronger, more energised and more confident in your body.

I’ve got a couple of spaces opening soon for 1-1 and 2-1 sessions at my private gym in Bexhill, which works really well if you’d like to start alongside a partner or friend.

Send me STRONG if you’d like the details.

“I’m worried exercise will make my back worse.”

I hear this all the time from people in their 50s and 60s.

They’ve had back pain for years.

They’ve tried to rest it, stretch it, ignore it, push through it… but the fear of making it worse stops them doing anything.

So they move less.

They become more cautious.

And before they know it everyday things start feeling harder.

Walking the dog feels uncomfortable.

Picking things up becomes a careful operation.

Playing with the grandkids is done from a chair instead of the floor.

The truth is, in many cases the thing the back needs most is strength.

Not random workouts.

Not pushing through pain.

But the right exercises, introduced gradually and built up over time.

That’s when people realise their back is far more capable than they thought.

And for many people, starting alongside someone they know makes that first step much easier.

I’ve got a couple of spaces opening at the beginning of April and I’m looking to fill them with 2-1 sessions at my private gym here in Bexhill, ideal if you’d like to train with a partner, friend or family member.

If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, send me a message with the word STRONG and I’ll send you the details.

If you ever feel like pain or stiffness is stopping you from enjoying the things you love, read this.

This is Sam and her granddaughter at soft play, something she didn’t think she’d be able to enjoy again.

When Sam first came to me, years of horse riding, getting older and long hours at a desk had left her arthritis so painful that even walking upstairs or sleeping on her side felt difficult.

Soft play with her granddaughter felt completely out of reach.

But after a short time strength training together, here’s what she told me:

“I can walk upstairs with purpose, not pain.
I can sleep on my side again.
I can crawl and climb around in soft play with my granddaughter.
I’m fitter, stronger and in far less pain.”

This is why strength training is so powerful for people in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.

It helps you live your life again and not just get through it.

If you’ve been feeling stiff, achy or held back by pain, this is proof that you’re not stuck.

You can feel better than you do now.

I have a couple of spaces for free taster sessions next week at my private gym in Bexhill.

A lot of people in Bexhill underestimate what exercise can actually do for them… and it has nothing to do with how they look.

For most people I work with in their 50s, 60s and beyond, the real benefits are things like:

Enjoying a dog walk along the seafront without knees aching

Getting up off the floor after playing with the grandkids without groaning

Feeling steady and confident on the stairs

Having the energy to get through the day without feeling wiped out

Feeling like yourself again

None of that is about six packs.
It’s about life feeling easier, more enjoyable and far less painful.

And the best part is you don’t need to be super fit to start.
You just need the right support and a place where you feel comfortable.

I’ve got two spaces opening up in January, so I’m taking bookings now for free taster sessions in the New Year.

If you want to start 2026 feeling stronger, more mobile and more confident in your body, now’s a great time to reach out.

Send me a message with the word STRONG and I’ll send you the details.
Happy to answer any questions too.

Imagine going into the Christmas break already knowing you’ve got a plan in place for January… and even the whole of 2026.

Most people head into Christmas thinking, “I’ll sort it in the New Year,”

But January rolls around and they’re already starting behind:
Less energy, more stiffness, more aches, more frustration.

But it doesn’t have to be like that.

Going into the break with a plan means walking into January feeling calm, prepared and actually looking forward to getting started.

And for people in their 50s, 60s and beyond, having that plan makes all the difference.

It means you’re not dragging yourself into another year feeling tired, achy or out of shape.

You’re starting strong.

A plan for January and 2026 means:
• No more battling through back pain after sitting too long
• No more avoiding the stairs because of your knees
• No more feeling wiped out halfway through the day
• No more watching the kids or grandkids from the sidelines

It means feeling confident.

It means feeling capable.

It means feeling like you again.

Strength training isn’t about punishment after Christmas.

It’s about getting ahead, building strength, easing pain and having the energy to enjoy life, not just survive it.

If you want to go into the Christmas break knowing you’re set up for a stronger, healthier 2026, I’ve opened a couple of free taster spaces at my private gym in Bexhill next week.

Send me a message with the word STRONG and I’ll send you the details.
