If you’ve been thinking about coming to ride with us before the end of the year… this is your little reminder to get booked in! 👀🐴

We’re now down to barely any weekend availability between now and December, and our weekdays are filling up very quickly too.

With autumn hacks, festive rides and everything else happening at Bank Farm, the diary is getting busier by the day.

So if you’ve been saying “we really must come and ride there sometime…” well this is your sign. 😂

Whether you fancy a action packed hack through the Wyre Forest, a more relaxed-pace ride (minimum walk & trot), bringing your own horse, have a lesson, or trying one of our other experiences, don’t leave it until December to get in touch.

✨ CEDRIC - NOW ACTIVELY FOR SALE ✨

Absolutely beautiful 5YO 17–17.1hh grey gelding 🤍

Cedric arrived with us at the beginning of the summer still quite green around the edges and needing plenty of miles on the clock before we felt he was ready to be offered for sale.

He’s spent the summer working at Bank Farm and enjoying a really varied education, and he has come on enormously. He’s now ready to find his new home.

Cedric is a genuinely lovely, kind horse who is easy to do on the ground. He’ll happily go in front or behind and has all the attributes to make a fantastic hunter or quality all-round horse.

He’ll continue his education with us throughout the winter and is due to begin hunting. He hasn’t hunted yet, so we won’t claim that he has, but everything he’s shown us so far suggests he should make a very exciting prospect.

Cedric is currently priced at £10,500, which will increase as his education and experience progress.

A beautiful, genuine horse with a very promising future ahead of him. Serious enquiries are very welcome. 🤍

And if you like him, you might want to hurry up… because the more we do with this one, the more I like him myself! He could very easily end up being a keeper. 😂🤍

One of the things we ask every rider to do before riding with us is tell us about their riding ability.

Here’s what we mean by each ability level:

🐴 FIRST TIMER
You’ve never ridden, or have only ridden once or twice at walk. You’re interested in learning and building your confidence around horses.

🐴 BEGINNER
You’re still learning the foundations. You can walk and do some trot, but you’re not yet confident and still need guidance while riding.

🐴 NOVICE
You can confidently ride in rising trot, have good balance in walk, can change the rein and have independent control of your horse. You may have tried canter but still need more practice.

(Novice is the minimum riding ability we require at Bank Farm)

🐴 INTERMEDIATE
You can confidently walk, trot and canter. You’re comfortable on easier horses but may not yet feel confident on more forward or sensitive horses. You may have tried galloping but aren’t comfortable with it yet.

🐴 CONFIDENT INTERMEDIATE
You’re balanced, independent and secure in walk, trot and canter. You can maintain control, ride accurately and calmly cope with minor changes in your horse’s behaviour or surroundings.

🐴 EXPERIENCED
You’ve been riding for years and are confident in walk, trot, canter and gallop. You can adapt quickly to different horses and are comfortable with fast-paced and longer rides, including plenty of galloping.

Why do we need to know?

Our rides take place in the Wyre Forest, with varied terrain and forward going horses. You don’t need to be an expert, but you do need to be confident managing a horse outside an arena.

There are some amazing beginner-friendly riding schools doing a brilliant job of helping people discover their love of horses, build confidence and learn the foundations of riding.

Bank Farm offers something a little different.

We’re a place to come when you’re ready to build on those foundations and take your riding further. 🐴

Our horses are experienced, forward-going, with their own personalities… used to riding through real unpredictable countryside. With direct access to 6,500 acres of the Wyre Forest, our rides include varied terrain, open spaces, hills, tracks, woodland and everything that comes with hacking out.

That’s why we ask our riders to be confident riding independently, in at least rising trot, and able to confidently control and manage their horse.

It doesn’t mean you need to be an expert. It simply means you need to have the foundations in place and be ready to progress.

So if you’ve built your confidence at a riding school and aren’t quite sure where to go next…
