U13 Rangers.

With the season nearly over, the league have created a few “other fixtures” to maintain game time.

After the last few weeks of not being quite at 100% it was an opportunity to swap and try a couple new we’ve been working on at training.

And what a performance it was by the lads. Put everything into play today and it showed.

Another hard fought win for the boys.

U13 Rangers -

Todays game was hit and miss wether it was going ahead with the early kick off and frost, but after a pitch inspection by the ref it was deemed ok.

Men of the match today was a join effort.

Both lads played their part in keeping a disciplined back line and a clean sheet.

Take nothing from Cobras, they didn’t give us anytime on the ball and pressed us constantly all game without giving up.

We kept battling and came away 3-0 winners.

A hard fought win.

The time and date is set for our first ever cup final

U13s Rangers were in cup action after a few weeks off due to Christmas and the bad weather.

Needless to say the break showed. We started very slow and seemed to be on the back foot for the whole first half.

After a half time pep talk, we started the second half flying. Exactly the way we know we can play. Getting ourselves 3 quick goals. We kept piling on more and more constant pressure and getting a deserved win and progressing to the Cup Final for the first time.

Players of the game both showed determination to win back lost balls and when they had the ball, they played some quality passes and through balls creating multiple chances. Even scoring a couple.

Last game of the year and we come up against a very good Kidderminster Eagles team who were top of the league and unbeaten. The earlier fixture in the season saw them beat us.

Plan today was go out, play our game and win our battles and boy did we do it.

After taking the lead early on we continued to put the pressure on and maintain our lead. We kept battling hard and had to defend multiple chances coming at us. Our back line and keeper were solid and managed to keep them out. We had a couple more chances first half and put them away Taking us to half time with a good lead.

Second half we knew eagles were going to come at us hard and they did, they piled on more and more pressure and kept us working hard at the back. They did win a penalty from an unfortunate handball and slotted it away to give them a lift.

They then continued non stop but our defence and keeper maintained our solid performances and helped us hold out for a well deserved win putting us top of the league for Christmas.

Men of the match -

Great Game of football between Phoenix & Lickhill.

Phoenix started very quick and played some great football, linking up with eachother and scoring some great goals. We went into half time 5-1 up.

Second half lickhill came out firing on all cylinders and bought the game back to 5-4 with us lapsing in concentration. However, the lads picked themselves up and battled more and linked up like we did first half and fired in 4 more goals before the end.

The 2 man of the match battled all game, won ever dual and one scored a hatrick.

Great morning of football from both teams involved.
