Another very successful event this morning brought to you by a super squad of 40 volunteers. Special mention for Cindy McAndrew who was volunteering for the 200th time. 👏 She has a lovely warm and friendly personality and is in her element at BWp welcoming volunteers, first timers and finishers.🥰 Congratulations and thank you, Cindy! 👏

It certainly was warm and very humid this morning for event #254 and there fewer than usual barkrunners as a result. It seemed like a lot more, but 260 fine folk made it round our lovely course (rated on the "challenging" list recently).
It was good to see so many people answering the call for volunteering, as well. We had several first timers and people filling in with injury. Thankyou very much, it is so appreciated, especially with the Cattle on the pasture.
RD Ed had no problems on the day and only a minor correction to make to publish the results. Well done the timing, funnel and scanning team!

Callum Bunn was the first finisher, with a PB and highest age grading, in front of superfast junior Jacob Jorna. But he was more pleased that Jade Stowell was also first lady! Lots of other PBs throughout the field and milestones to record which will be in the event report along with lots of dodgy photos later, both c/o JP
That was certainly fun and the Core team deserved their bacon butties afterwards. Let's do it all again next week!

🌤️After a few false starts summer seems to have arrived at last and we’re looking forward to warm conditions on the Westwood tomorrow morning. Everyone should dress appropriately for the weather and bring a drink. 🥤 If you usually take part with your dog you may want to consider leaving it at home this week. 🐾🐾

📣RD Ed is back from paternity leave and has a super squad of volunteers ready to welcome you to the Westwood for another enjoyable event. If you’re celebrating a parkrun milestone let Ed know and he’ll give you a shout-out in the briefing. 📣

This weekend the number of events clocked up will reach one million so come and join us on Beverley Westwood for a 5k walk or run to celebrate this momentous milestone! 👏
