Hodgsons AFC Currently playing in the East Riding County Championship Southern Divison, Hodgsons FC was formed in 2004/2005.

The first season saw The Tanners win 2 finals, and the Division 5 championship.

20 years later, with many long-standing players still involved, we begin our 2024/2025 campaign on Saturday 7th, September with our home games being played at The Fortress, Beverley Leisure Centre 3G Pitch. With numerous key signings made over the closed season, we are looking forward to the season and what it brings.

We are delighted to announce Mike Thompson will be joining us from pre-season.

Having managed both Bridlington Town and Beverley Town, Mike will be a huge asset to the club, as he knows what it takes to compete at this level and above.

Mike will no doubt be putting the lads through their paces, and we are looking forward to getting going.

Season complete ✅

Frustratingly South Cave have informed us that they won’t be putting a team together this weekend - which means the promotion celebrations won’t include any more football.

While the season hasn’t ended as we’d hoped, what an achievement from the boys to secure promotion at our first attempt👏

100+ goals scored, cup upsets against sides in the league above, and countless memories.

Two defeats in the last week of the season means Edgehill FC are crowned champions. Congratulations on what has been a fantastic battle over the course of the campaign.

After scoring immediately from kick-off, we never really got going and with a depleted squad, the heat took its toll on the lads. Edgehill ran out deserved winners in what was a below par performance.

Nonetheless it has been an incredible season from the boys - securing promotion to the Humber Premier League in our first attempt.

We play South Cave next Saturday as we sign off for the season and would love to see plenty there to celebrate promotion 🧡

This weekend will likely decide who becomes the East Riding County Football League champions, as we face Edgehill FC away from home.

Both teams have had fantastic seasons, setting points totals that would have guaranteed a title win in any other season.

It is set to be a cracking game once again.

📢Monday Night Football📢

No game today but we are in action on Monday night in a huge game, as the title run in heads towards a conclusion. As we face Holme Rovers away from home.

A cup final that had a bit of everything, ended in defeat after a penalty shoot out.

We had the better of the first half and went in 1-0 up at half time through a 25 yard free kick from Dawson.

The lads dug deep as Edgehill had the better of the second half. With 10 minutes to go, Edgehill equalized from the penalty spot. Edgehill then went 2-1 ahead with five minutes remaining after a back heel from a goal mouth scramble.

In the 93rd minute Stockers was sent off and we were then awarded a penalty for a foul in the penalty area, and Ry Holmes converted.

The controversy wasn't finished in normal time either. Edgehill's 5th penalty was saved TWICE by The Chain, only for both saves to be ruled out. Edgehill converted the third attempt and won the tie.

Man of the match: Ry Holmes. Solid as a rock defensively and showed great composure to take the 93rd minute penalty, convert it, and then convert his penalty in the shootout too.

Congratulations to Edgehill FC on the win in a good battle.

All attention now turns to our final 3 league games🧡
