Today the Roundheads Touch Team head over to Preston for our first series day of the Touch Season.

After a solid pre-season of training, it’s a chance to see that hard work put into practice and for some of our new players to get their first run out in Roundheads colours.

We’re looking forward to getting back on the pitch, catching up with the other IGR touch teams, and kicking off the season.

Today marks IDAHOBIT — the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia.

It’s an important reminder that discrimination and hate are still experienced by far too many people every day. Behind every statistic is a person who deserves respect, safety and acceptance for who they are.

As a club, we believe rugby should be welcoming to everyone. Creating an inclusive environment on and off the pitch means supporting one another, speaking out against discrimination, and taking action when something isn’t right.

We stand together.
We challenge hate when we see or hear it.
And we encourage reporting incidents, whether they happen publicly or behind closed doors.

What a day for the Hutton Hike! 🥾

On Sunday several members of the team completed the 26-mile round trip from Beverley to Driffield in a fantastic 8.5 hours, and together raised an amazing £1,355, smashing our £1,000 target! 🎯

A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored the team! This money will make a real difference, helping support the future of the club and contributing towards vital training equipment.

A huge congrats and well done to everyone who took part, every mile (and every blister!) was worth it. 👏

Here at the Hull Roundheads, we’re proud to be an inclusive LGBTQ+ rugby team built on community, resilience, and a shared love of the game. More than a club, we’re a welcoming space where people of all identities can connect, stay active, and support each other.

To help keep our club thriving, we’re taking on a sponsored walk to raise essential funds. This will support facilities, equipment, and outreach—making rugby accessible to everyone. On Sunday 26th April 2026, our Union and Touch teams will complete the 26-mile Hutton Hike from Beaver Park in Beverley to Driffield.

This walk is about more than fundraising—it’s about visibility, solidarity, and celebrating our community. Whether you’re a player, supporter, or ally, your support helps us continue building a space where everyone belongs.

🏳️‍⚧️🏉TRANS DAY OF VISIBILITY🏉🏳️‍⚧️

Each year on March 31, we honor International Transgender Day of Visibility! We celebrate the joy and resilience of trans and non-binary people everywhere.

Being a Roundhead means more than just being a rugby club, it’s being part of a community of support and being part of something special in Hull and the East Riding.

Today we celebrate our trans and non-binary players.

🏉 Match Summary 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

On Saturday, our Union team faced the Manchester Village Spartans RUFC at our home ground, Beverley RUFC. With the sun shining and a fantastic crowd behind us, the try’s just kept coming! and the Roundheads came away with an entertaining win!

Our captain summed it up perfectly:

“Yet another great game of IGR rugby and it felt great to be back at home in Beverley!

Some fantastic efforts from individuals and well done to Ben and Tom on their player of the match awards but it really was another team performance that got us through.

Thanks to Manchester for making the trip down the M62 and for having a good attitude on the pitch! We’re going to have some great matches in the coming seasons.

Big shout out too for the supporters too, they played their part in making it such a great atmosphere!

We’ve got one final home game of the season in a couple of weeks, so let’s bring the noise for that too!”

Now we can look forward to the next fixture at home against Northampton Outlaws the 11th April.
