Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs) are a great way to work your entire posterior chain (back of your body) with just one movement!

You hinge at your hips, sending your glutes backwards which uses your hamstrings, glutes and lower back!

They not only strengthen these muscles but can improve your hamstring flexibility, stretches and strengthens the lower back, supports better posture and can help you improve in so many other lifts!

They can be a complicated movement to perfect but once you do they feel great and are so functional and helpful 🤩

Is exercise or diet more important for weight loss? 🌽

It is both! Making better food choices and exercise can aid in weight loss goals, but what you eat is 80% of the picture.

You can’t out train a bad diet! 🏋

Ultimately to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit, eating less, and adding exercise to the mix will make this easier and more sustainable.

Putting yourself into a realistic and sustainable calorie deficit, still including your favourite foods is the healthiest and most efficient way to lose weight and keep it off!

Hip thrusts are one of the BEST exercises when it comes to growing your glutes 🍑 But they have so many other benefits too other than getting the Kim K look 😍🤣🫣

They help with glutes activation and control which a lot of people struggle with! This can improve your posture and ability to engage your glutes day to day reducing back and hip pain 🤩

They also help improve other exercises such as squats and RDLs, as well as daily movements and pelvic control too (good for those who’s little ones have impacted that 🫣)

They’re such a tough exercise to perfect, but once you do it’s so easy to overload on as your glutes tend to be some of the strongest muscles in your body 😍💪

Does cardio = weight loss?

Cardio can absolutely be a beneficial tool when it comes to losing weight but it is not the only or most efficient way.

You lose weight when your body is burning more than it’s consuming, so cardio can help with this by slightly increasing the amount of calories you burn but it really doesn’t make too huge of an impact (unless you’re running 10k everyday, no thanks 😂)

Including strength training alongside a balanced diet, occasional cardio, implementing healthy habits and an active lifestyle is the best way to improve your fitness and lose weight.

When you strength train you increase your muscle mass which then results in your burning more energy throughout the day 🤩 Pairing that with a calorie deficit will give you the results you want without having to do any cardio at all!

Try using cardio as a tool to improve your health and fitness rather than a tool to lose weight and it can even become enjoyable 🫣😂

I’ve worked with Eliza since May last year and since then she has had an absolute lifestyle change!

Not only has she lost over 4 stone but she’s also taken up various other activities such as boxing, paddle boarding and is obsessed with anything strength training 🤩

She’s made some crazy changes to her physique, her form and her attitude about exercise and I could not be more proud!

We have so much fun in our sessions and you’ll always hear us in the gym before you see us 🫣🤣 She’s such an inspiration to anyone looking to improve their health and fitness and i’m super pleased to call her my client and my friend (most of the time 🤣)

I’ve worked with Soph for just a little over a year now and the progress we have seen is absolutely immense!!

Not only has her strength increased dramatically so has her form. Sophie has so much control over her movements and the heavy weights we use is incredible! She also trains solo using all of the free weights with confidence and ease 😎

Her lower body strength has increased so much resulting in some crazy leg press and squat PBs, but also some amazing upper body progress too with her going from 15kg to 22.5kg on a barbell overhead press (which honestly doing anything over 10kg most people struggle with).

She is an absolute delightful person who i’m so happy to call my client and my friend 🥰 Our sessions are so much fun and she never fails to amaze me with her progress and determination 💪💜 Keep it up Soph 👸

Lunges are SUCH an important exercise (despite everyone hating them 🥲)

They help strengthen your legs individually, improving on any strength differences which are super common in most people!

Lunges also help improve with balance and coordination (something i’m definitely lacking in 🤦🤣) and help assist in day to day movements such as bending down to tie your shoe!

Despite them being so beneficial they are tough and probably most of my clients most hated exercise (especially Ally’s who is in the pic) , but even more so why you should prioritise the movement!

Walking, reverse, curtsey lunges and even a single leg press will help improve your lower body strength, mobility and coordination 🥰
