Our thoughts are with Nepal

On the morning of 26th August, flash floods tore through the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts of Nepal, along the Trishuli and Bhotekoshi rivers near the border with Tibet. Whole villages and communities have been affected, with homes, roads, bridges and hydropower infrastructure swept away. As we write this, the confirmed death toll has passed 150, with hundreds more still missing. Search and rescue teams are still working, and the full scale of what local communities have lost is still emerging.

Nepal isn't just a destination on our calendar. For those of us at Multi Terrain Biking, it's a country we've come to know closely — its mountains, its rivers, and above all its people, who have welcomed us on every trip we've run there. That connection goes back over thirty years for some of us, long before Multi Terrain Biking existed. It's impossible to see images of the Trishuli valley like this and not feel it personally.

Our thoughts today are with everyone affected — the families searching for missing loved ones, the communities whose homes and roads and bridges have been swept away, and the rescue teams working in incredibly difficult conditions to bring people home. We're also thinking of our friends and partners on the ground in Nepal, who we know will be doing everything they can to help their communities through this.

There will be a long road of recovery ahead for the people of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and everywhere else touched by this disaster. We'll be watching closely and thinking of Nepal in the days and weeks to come. 🙏
