As expected, The Masterclass coaching with Glen Durrant was extremely popular and sold out in no time at all.

We apologise if you missed out, but as demonstrated in the past, we really try to get as many opportunities as possible for our academy players, and we have other things in the pipeline here at Berwick Darts Academy 🎯

As we are in the bar area only, and to give Glen the maximum amount of space, we are asking that the players lucky enough to get a space, only bring 1 parent along for these sessions. This will be treated as a private function so doors will be closed once all players are in and ready to go.

We will sort players into their respective groups in the coming weeks and you will be notified what session to attend.

🚨 BIG NEWS 🚨

We are excited to announce that we are offering a limited amount of players a great opportunity to be coached by one of the very best in the game... Glen Durrant!

We have already offered some of our academy players a space that will, play for our academy team in the north east league, and players that have shown a willingness to learn by going to Michael Cornish one 2 one sessions 😃

2x 1.5 hour sessions, with 10 players to a group 👥👥

I understand with there being a limited amount of spaces, that there will be a lot of disappointed players that won't get a space, and we apologise for that 😞

If your interested, please PM this page with your details and if we have enough interest, we may put on another 2 sessions later on in the season 🎯 🎯 🎯

Michael Cornish has been giving one 2 one sessions over the past 4 weeks at the Northern View to our academy players. Here is his report:

Just spent the last four Tuesdays through August, taking young dart players, from the Academy for 1 to 1 lessons, and a couple of sessions with two players.

The sessions were mainly based on the Pdpa Darts 1️⃣8️⃣0️⃣ program and some games and practice routines. Catching the monster 👾 was very popular and also introduced steplechase a game based on a race🏁
All the sessions lasted an hour, and it was a pleasure. All kids were so focused and certainly like their darts 🎯
The kids are a credit to their families & our academy. Several passed the Treble level, checkout level and one managed to pass Bullseye narrowly missing the next level on a double.

Plenty of work going on behind the scenes at the academy.

I sent texts out last week to some players regarding a friendly against Jordans darts academy on Saturday 3rd October. This game will now be away to G10 Hawick Darts Academy, more details to follow.

The reason for the change of fixture, is because we hope to bring you some exciting news in the next week or so about us joining the North of England Junior Darts Academies League , where we would compete against the likes of Jordans Junior Darts and other academies from the north east. More details to follow...

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE 🚨

Before we return in September, we are making some slight alterations to our age groups.

To keep it simple, as we run parallel with the school timetable, we are changing our age groups to match the school years. 🚸

So if you are in the school years 5, 6, 7 or 8, then your sessions will take place on a Tuesday, and for year's 9 and above (all the way to 18 years old) your sessions will take place on a Wednesday.
This will only effect a small few of our players, and we apologise for any inconvenience.

If your child does not wish to return in September, could you please let me know ASAP 🙏

We are looking forward to seeing all our players return to the Northern View in September, as we have already started plans for another busy upcoming season 🎯 🎯 🎯

Thats the first two Tuesday's 1-2-1 Academy 1 hour coaching sessions completed 💪

So far 11 students have attended the sessions. These have been well recieved and I think everyone has enjoyed them, and maybe learned a little bit more about this great game called darts.
The sessions are geared towards obtaining the next level certificate in the PDPA 1️⃣8️⃣0️⃣ program.

This is mixed with practice rourines for the older players, and more fun games for the younger ones.

Catching and releasing the monster game was well recieved👾
Stand out performance so far was Kaya obtaining Checkout level certificate, requiring 2 points on 25/bull, with only 2 darts in hand, he smashed both into the bullseye to make sure 😎

I would like to take the time congratulate all the players on an absolute fantastic approach to the sessions. A big thank you to Isabel for allowing the use of the Northern View through the summer break 🌞
