Berriew Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Gareth Hopkins as First Team Ladies Manager, and Carol Williams as the Assistant Manager, for the 26/27 season.

With current manager Regina Hanratty deciding to step down, we would like to thank her for all her amazing work for the Ladies team, junior section and the wider club. She has been key to the club’s rapid progress on the girl’s and women’s side, and we are pleased that she will remain involved to support the club going forward.



Gareth has led our Under 16 and Under 17 sides over the past three years, whilst Carol is a key coach across our Ladies and Men’s Development teams, and has also had a long involvement with our junior section, and both will remain involved as part of the junior set-up, led by Neil Yapp, who will also be part of the wider coaching team.



George Williams-Scott will continue in his role of Ladies Development Team Manager, building on a fantastic first season for the team who finished in 4th place in the Central Wales North Ladies league.



Tim Davies, Chair of the Football Club commented “I would like to take the opportunity to put on record my thanks to Regina for all her amazing work, and am also delighted that these appointments reinforce our progressive nature as a club, appointing Gareth and Carol from within the club. We also continue to create opportunities for young, ambitious coaches such as George, with a number of our coaches continuing to build their coaching qualifications working with the FAW, and maintaining the clear pathway for our young players through the Junior section led by Neil"

The development teams last 2 games have provided two wins to keep them in the title race. A 2-1 comeback win away to Llanfair Reserves and a 7-2 win away to Newcastle on Wednesday keeping them in with a chance going into their last game against Llangedwyn on Tuesday.

Tomorrow night is the final of the penybont womens cup, it will be contested between the hosts Penybont Utd FC vs Berriew Development FC, this game contained plenty of goals last year so should be a great watch for the fans

Tea hut will be open so come along and enjoy some grassroots football

Berriew Football Club is pleased to announced that we have been awarded a FAW Women’s Tier 2 Club Licence for the 2026/2027 Season.

This ensures that the Ladies First Team will continue to play in the second tier of Welsh football (the Genero Adran North) building on last year's promotion and a solid first season at this level.

With our Ladies Development Team also firmly established and a junior section operating teams at all ages, we look forward to continuing to grow the women's and girls' game across the local area.
